Advisory Committee Meeting
December 4, 2003
The Museum Advisory Committee met in the Museum at Noon on Thursday, November 6,2003.
Members Present: Shirley Abrams, Grady Price Blount,Henry Brennecke, Angie-Flores, Anna
Peterson, and Phyllis Riddle.
Upon motion by Grady Price Blount and seconded by Angie Flores the minutes of the November
6, 2003 meeting were unanimously approved.
Business:
A. Rick Stryker reported on the intention of the Friends of the Museum to hold a special
meeting at which they will discuss a long range plan for the Museum.
B. Upon motion by Angie Flores and seconded by Grady Price Blount a variety of
periodicals, archival materials in poor condition, and broken artifacts were unanimously
deaccessioned.
C. Upon motion by Shirley Abrams and seconded by Angie Flores changes in the new fees
for birthday parties and piano recitals were adopted. The vote was unanimous with Grady
Price Blount abstaining.
D. The admission fee schedules for fifteen comparable museums and attractions in Corpus
Christi and across the state were provided for review. After some discussion the
consensus of those present determined that it was not appropriate to consider an increase
in admission fees.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 1:15 p.m.
