This event will be at the Museum on May 19i1. Business: A. Phyllis Riddle reported on the meeting with Mayor Neal along with several Friends Board members. Recognizing that there were inadequate resources for Museum marketing, the Mayor volunteered to call a meeting with representatives of other museums to discuss collaborative marketing and other measures to raise the visibility of local cultural institutions with tourists. Phyllis will report back after this follow up meeting is held. B. Rick Stryker reviewed the Museum expenditure request submitted to the Budget Office. Upon motion by Tony Diaz and seconded by Grady Price Blount, the Committee unanimously recommended its approval by the City Council. C. Rick Stryker reviewed the supplemental funding list submitted as part of the budget. He indicated that it was not likely that anything from the list would be funded as this would be yet another very tight budget year. Most of these capital projects were also submitted for consideration for the 2004 bond package that is scheduled to go to the voters in November. One item (air handler replacement) is one of the three highest priority items submitted for the 2000 bond package that was left off that bond issue. It was hoped that this item and some of the other higher priority projects might be included in the bond package. D. Librarian Patricia Murphy presented a rate schedule for photographic reproduction services with increases in a number of categories. Upon motion by Tony Diaz and seconded by Margaret Bolick the new rates were approved unanimously. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 1:15 p.m. After the meeting members toured the Cultural Encounters gallery to view changes made in preparation for installation of the exhibit. Then they toured the recently completed Santiago's Challenge exhibit on the Santa Maria Plaza. SCANNED
