Members Present: Grady Price Blount, Margare r;:. uc , Angie Flores. and Phyllis Riddle. The minutes of the June 3, 2004 meeting were unanimously approved. Business: A. Rick Stryker demonstrated the Education Program Reservation system and virtual tour. It will be available to teachers in August from the Museum's web site at www.cctexas.com. Teachers will be able to review available education exhibits and programs, download curriculum materials that were previously only available through the mail, and, at their convenience- any time of the day or night, submit a requested time and date for a class trip to the Museum. There will be an immediate acknowledgement followed by an e-mail confirmation. Should teachers wish to do it the old fashioned way, by telephone, the same web based program will be used to make reservations. Its data base features will enable the compilation of reports, calendars, and statistics. B. There was a brief discussion of the Bayfront Master Plan—the northern component of which encompasses the area north of IH 37 including the Museum. Information on this plan is available on the City's web site at www.cctexas.com. Several members of the Advisory Committee attended the Friends Board meeting at which the City Engineer presented the traffic and parking plans for the area that are associated with development of the Arena, Baseball stadium, and the relocation of the bridge. The information from that meeting was discussed. C. By the end of August the City Council will finalize the Bond 2004 package that will go to the voters in November. It appears unlikely that the facility repair needs of the Museum will be included, although there is a chance that Phase 2 of the fire suppression system might be included. The Committee decided that there was no need in asking for City Council support at one of the public hearings since the Advisory Committee recommendation had already been forwarded to the City Manager for distribution to the City Council. D. There was a successful summer of teacher workshops offered by Museum staff. Sixteen 8th grade teachers participated in the European Conquest of Native America Institute and thirty-five teachers from 5 different grade levels participated in the four colloquiums on the Frontier and the Civil War. E. School attendance for the just ended fiscal year was down 19% while non-school attendance was down 5%. There was an upward trend over the last half of the year. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at I:l 5 p.m. SCANNED
