Members Present: Grady Price Blount, Marg. 4 1 p jp)p,ass' Sharon Brower, Phyllis Riddle, Alex Sadovski, and Linda Scott. Upon motion by Grady Price Blount the minutes of the November 4, 2004 meeting were unanimously approved. Chairman Phyllis Riddle welcomed prospective member Cheryl Gillenwater. Business: A. The Committee discussed strategies to take advantage of the proposal to make the Museum a free WiFi hot zone. Among the ideas discussed were: -Create a web quest with pre selected sites relevant to exhibits -Create pages on the Museum web site where visitors can access additional information -Access web sites pre selected by the teachers -Create audio links to the various exhibit topics similar to Acoustiguide tour -Invite a group of teachers interested in technology applications to brainstorm ideas -Use web based information to tailor exhibits to multiple grade levels -Create a library of links for exhibits enabling students to access additional information B. The performance measures for the first quarter and attendance through November were reviewed and discussed. C. Museum admission fees were compared to similar attractions and similar facilities. The sum of the Museum/ships component admission fee ($10 adults) is less than the Lexington ($11.95) and Aquarium ($12.50). The component fees (eg. $5 Museum/ $5 ships) are at the high end of local and regional fees for adults and senior citizens, but comparable for children. The component fees are lower than seven comparable museums around the State. Any fee increase would likely result in a drop in attendance which is already at historic lows. Any lower admission fee would not likely result in an increase in attendance that would offset the revenue earned from the present fee. There was no support among those present for adopting any changes to the admission fee structure. D. There was a discussion regarding the difficulty that Museum staff, daytime visitors, and evening facility use participants were having finding parking during special events at the arena and major trade shows at the convention center. During major events it is difficult to get by the parking attendants to get to the Museum even when parking is available. Area tenants will discuss these issues at a meeting on December 3N. E. 70,000 Odyssey brochures have been distributed to five Odyssey partners including 20,000 to be distributed by the Museum. The Odyssey audio tour CD is also for sale in the gift shop. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 1:15 p.m. SCANNED
