There was an extended discussion, but the consensus of those present determined that a joint
facilitated retreat with the Friends Board was the best approach to establishing a new direction
for the Museum. It was further decided that public input was needed to determine perceptions
regarding the role of the museum in the community. Grady Price Blount volunteered to work on
setting up the retreat.
E. Grady Price Blount reported on the Crest-Resaca Conference in San Antonio. Students from
the 2004 Archaeology Field School presented their findings. Grady chaired the symposium and
Bob Drolet participated in it. The Conference was supported by a National Science Foundation
grant through Texas A &M University—Kingsville.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 1:15 p.m.
