Special Meeting
October 22, 2009
The Museum Advisory Committee met in the Museum's DeDietrich Conference Room at Noon
on Thursday, October 22, 2009. Members Present: Pablo Garza, Jonda Halcomb, Kimberly
Harris-Ward, Kathy Juneau, Tom Kimes, Shannon Madden,Jim Moloney, and Nelida Ortiz.
Present from City Staff were Margie Rose(Assistant City Manager), Deb Brown (Assistant city
Attorney), and Evelyn Page, (Risk Management).
Pablo Garza was welcomed as a new member of the Advisory Committee.
Business:
John Torrey, President and Kim Mrazek, Vice President of the Columbus Sailing Association
made a presentation regarding their proposed project.
Upon motion by Kathy Juneau and seconded by Tom Kimes the Committee unanimously
recommend that the City enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Columbus Sailing
Association allowing them to restore Nina so long as:
1) Ownership remains with the City of Corpus Christi
2) Museum employees are not used on the repair of Nina while on City time to avoid
distracting them from their work restoring Pinta.
The meeting adjourned at 1:30 p.m.
