Howerton, Mary G. Longoria, and Donna Flynn.
Business:
The Columbus Fleet closed effective October 18. Museum fees were reduced on a temporary
basis the following day, but permanent fees must be adopted.
Rick Stryker proposed a schedule of fees that were developed based on a survey of local and
statewide cultural attractions.
Proposed Adopted
Adults $5.00 $5.00
Children (5 - 12) $3.00 $3.00
Youth (13-17) $3.00 $5.00
Senior Citizens $4.00 $4.00
Military(with ID) $4.00 $4.00
College Student (with ID) $5.00 $4.00
After reviewing comparative fees charged at other institutions the Committee concurred with
most of the proposed fee structure but changed the youth to an adult rate and established a$4.00
for college students (with ID).
Upon motion by Kathy Heymann and seconded by Donna Flynn the amended schedule of fees was
unanimously approved.
After consideration of other ways that the Columbus Fleet was tied to the Museum such as rack
cards, signs, etc. the Committee recommended that further changes await some passage of time.
Considerable effort is being put forth to `rescue"the ships and moving too swiftly with further
measures might harm those efforts.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 1:15 p.m.
