I. Call to Order
Chair, Rene Gutierrez called the meeting to order at 5:10 pm.
II. Roll Call of Members
The recording secretary called roll and announced a quorum was present.
III. Adoption of Minutes
Regular meeting of June 8, 2011
Ron Woods motioned to accept June 8, 2011 minutes.
Carlos Haley seconded.
Motion passed.
IV. Public Comment
Rita Padron — Encouraging PRAC to complete the online Master Plan Survey
High Touch Technology Solutions—Crystal DeLeon—New sponsor of"Neighbors of Oso
Creek Park"— Ms. DeLeon commented during the Oso Creek Park Update in support of Oso
Creek Park
V. Presentations
A. Social Media Update— Rene Gutierrez, Lisa Torres, and Rick Barrera
Informational Presentation with PowerPoint, short video and handouts showing PRAC's
Web, Facebook and Twitter pages. Presentation explained/demonstrated the need to keep
up via social media due to the following they create. PRAC Committee is the only City
committee using all three media sources. Rene Gutierrez, Chair asked, "how will the PRAC
Committee keep social media running when administrative members leave?" Possible
solutions suggested: Passwords and username should be kept by Chairman, Create SOP
for Finance and Marketing Subcommittee on how to monitor, guidelines, and sustainability
measures.

• Greenwood Softball Complex coming to

Proaram Development Sub-Committee— Watershore & Beach Advisory Committee
Sylvia Samaniego— 12000 by 2012 Tree Liaison - No report
Campaign—first meeting had 12 people in
attendance— brainstorming to get 12000
trees planted in the City by 2012. A
Facebook page was created. Meetings will
be held the second Saturday of every month
with the next meeting at The Place to be on
August 13, 2011at 9am. Beautify Corpus
Christi has offered a phone number for calls.
Rita Padron—Grandparents/ Kids Olympics
2012—would like to have a play day in the
park after Spring Break 2012 with bike relay,
marbles, tennis double, three legged race,
egg spoon race, etc. PRAC is event
committee. Charge a fee/sponsor
letter/partner with Athletic department and
Senior community Services. Building
network of supporters may help in
supporting the creation of a protected Urban
Forrester position for PARD

Volunteers Proaram Task Force - no report TAC/Bicycle and Pedestrian Subcommittee -
9/24/11 - resolution being read at City
Council - Be Kind to Cyclists. Revising
Chapter 11 Ordinances about bikes
Special Project Task Group-no report
Director/Assistant Director -
a. 4th of July- Mayor's Big Bang - concern about use of Bayfront Park Pool/ Fountain by
Fireworks watchers. PARD involvement-coordination; day of event support, children's
activities
b. TAAF Games-Corpus Christi hosting TAAF (Texas Amateur Athletic Federation) City
wide event last weekend in July 2012 and 2013 with several athletic events and Corpus will
be the first to sponsor a skateboarding event. PRAC assistance will be determined

VIII. Adjournment
As there was no further business, Art Norman made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Rita
Padron seconded. There was no opposition. Chair, Rene Gutierrez adjourned at 7:20 pm.
