I. Call to Order
Chair, Lisa Torres called the meeting to order at 5:11 pm.
II. Roll Call of Members
The recording secretary called roll and announced a quorum was present.
III. Adoption of Minutes
Regular meeting of May 9, 2012
Rita Padron motioned to accept May 9, 2012 minutes.
Ron Woods seconded.

V. Presentation
A. Corpus Christi Tennis Association — Terry Sweet, President
PRAC received a Powerpoint presentation from CCTA which covered their Mission, Vision,
History, Partners, Programs, Fundraising, Scholarships and Advocacy. The presentation also
showed the committee the condition of HEB Tennis Center which stressed the need for facility
improvements and upgrades.
VI. Old Business for Discussion and Possible Action
A. Bylaws, Rules & Regulations — Lisa Torres
Lisa wanted everyone to know their roles
B. July 11 Tour of Greenwood, Southside, Bill Witt, Cole and Bayfront Parks — Reschedule — Lisa
Torres — Would like to postpone the tour due to conflicts and Master Plan returning to PRAC
C. PSA — Carlos Haney
Mr. Haney asked for thoughts on the Public Service Announcement script, shooting locations,
content, etc. The Committee discussed ideas and opportunities for shooting and capturing
footage. Carlos attempting to come up with a message for the PSA that the Committee wants to
portray. He has asked to the Committee to email him with an idea of the scene they want to be
in.

VII. New Business for Discussion
A. Bond 2008 Proposition 6 Update — Rita Padron
Rita Padron asked how many of the projects will be complete before the push for Bond 2012
begins. Mr. Morris answered that 2 or 3 won't be complete but will be under construction.
VIII. New Business for Discussion and Possible Action
A. Appointments / Reappointments for members terms expiring in August 2012
1. a. Huxley Smith — eligible for reappointment — Mr. Smith accepted reappointment
b. Ron Woods — eligible for reappointment — Mr. Woods accepted reappointment
c. Dorian Ramirez — eligible for reappointment - Mrs. Ramirez accepted
reappointment
d. Rick Barrera — eligible for reappointment — Mr. Barrera declined reappointment
e. Rene Gutierrez — reaching term limits — Mr. Gutierrez last official meeting with
PRAC will be July 11, 2012.
2. Review Applications for new member appointments
Lisa Torres asked that Committee member review the applications supplied in agenda
packets. Parks and Recreation Staff suggested that members recruit for new
applicants to apply with the City Secretary's office. Chair Lisa Torres, under the
Special Project Task Force appoints Sylvia Samaniego, Dorian Ramirez, Huxley Smith
and Carlos Haney to review the board applications. Carlos Haney motions to create the
task force to expedite the application and vetting process for candidates. Sylvia
Samaniego seconds the motion, Rene Gutierrez is opposed. Motion carries. Tracey
Weber will submit any new applicants from the City Secretary's office to the Task Force
by Friday, June 29, 2012.
IX. Committee, Liaison /Staff Reports
• Finance /Marketing Task Force — Rick Barrera, Athletics Task Force - Richard Avila, Rita
Rene Gutierrez — PRAC facebook page has Padron, Ron Woods — plan to go on a tour to
1596 friends and 90 on Twitter. Other cities view facilities and see what needs work or is
taken notice of what PRAC is doing on social needed at those facilities. Will come back with

Director/ Assistant Director -
a. Dulak Ballfield Dedication Ceremony - The Dulaks have selected Monday, 6/25/12 at 6:30pm.
The Family will have four signs, a plaque cast in bronze, flag, and friends from UT. The family will
throw out the first pitch. Stacie Talbert asked that the Committee let her know if they will be
attending.
b. Cole Park Re- Opening Ceremony — Thursday June 28, 2012 in conjunction with Bay Jammin'.
Bands begin playing at 7:30, Reopening and dedication at 8:15.
c. TAAF Games of Texas Update and PRAC Volunteer Opportunities — Coordinators......, medals
ordered, hotels beginning to fill up, there will be an opening ceremonies with parade to the barge
dock. Stacie Talbert is asking for PRAC Volunteers for traffic direction and help. Tracey Weber
will be sending an email reagarding.
d. Parks Special Projects Report — written report provided by Joshua Wentworth. Report in packet.
X. Identify items to be placed on next agenda

As there was no further business, Rita Padron motions to adjourn the meeting, Sylvia Samaniego
seconds. Chair Lisa Torres adjourns at 7:34pm
