Program Development Task Force — Ron
Woods, Sylvia Samaniego, Jinsun Kim, and
Rita Padron — Rita requested help from The
Committee. She stated that donations are not
coming in as hoped. Rita also said that flyers
were going out in the August 11 water bill.
Sylvia Samaniego reported that there will be a
Fundraiser on 09/07/12 called the 2012 Funky
Tree Extravaganza at The Havana Club from
5:30pm to 8:30pm

a. BMX Update — Stacie Talbert —there will be a,final meeting to review a proposed contract for the
BMX Park at Salinas Park to move through for approval soon.
b. HEB Tennis Center Strategy and Future — Michael Morris - numerous meetings with CCTA have
been held. Ron Woods and CCTA sent a letter to HEB asking for support. HEB may be willing to
donate interim monies until Bond monies are available. Another option being considered is an
RFP,(request for proposal) for private management similar to that of the golf courses. There is
lots of discussion going on through all involved parties and most of the council members have
responded to CCTA.
c. Adopt A Park update — Stacie Talbert — Stacie reported that there are 41 parks or parcels
adopted, two pending and there is a family that wants to adopt a park wholesale and completely
take care of it. She also reported that there have been 5072 volunteer hours completed by 200 0
people who have adopted these parks
d. Destination Bayfront Update -It was requested that Destination Bayfront be pulled from the Bond
2012. Destination Bayfront is working on developing a nonprofit and fundraising effort.
e. HEB Donation to Collier Park Update — the monies from this donation will be split between the
park and the pool allowing for new lap lanes at the pool and trees and irrigation in the park
f. Master Plan Update — Mr. Morris reported that the City Manager requested a briefing and also
requested to have individual meetings with groups of council members. The Master Plan will go
to Planning in the first week of September, then to Council the third and fourth weeks of
September 2012.

As there was no further business, Rita Padron motions to adjourn the meeting, Sylvia Samaniego
seconds. Chair Lisa Torres adjourns at 6:14pm.
