➢ The meeting was called to order at 5:19 p.m. by Carlos Haney.
➢ Roll Call
Roll call was conducted by Hope Herrera and quorum was announced. Members present: R. Barrera, C. Ford, C. Haney,
A. Hunter, R. Padron, D. Ramirez, H. Smith, and C. Valdez Sr. Staff present: Michael Morris, Stacie Talbert Anaya and Hope
Herrera. Members absent: J. Kim, L. Torres, R.Woods
➢ Approval of Minutes
Minutes from the June 111h meeting were distributed for review. A motion was made by Rita Padron and seconded by Carlos
Valdez, Sr. to approve the minutes as submitted. The motion was unanimously approved. Motion Carried.

➢ Public Comment—Carrie Robertson Meyer—running for City Council District 1. She stated that if she wins the seat that she
wanted to push for better service for Parks and help give them more funds for their department. She said she has firsthand
seen the good that Parks& Rec does with a park project she was involved in with the park on the island where they were able
to get a playground put in.

➢ Director/Assistant Director Report—M. Morris/S.Talbert Anaya
a) Bond 2012 Update— Mike gave an update on all parks in the bond including West Guth, Oso Bay, Bill Witt, Billish,
Parker, Bear Creek Ditch, Hike & Bike Trail, swimming pools, HEB Tennis Center. Also update on erosion at North
Beach and Swantner Park. Also updated on 2008 bond for restrooms on North Beach.
b) U.S. Fish &Wildlife Community Garden Assistance—Stacie gave the U.S. Fish &Wildlife contact information for the
community gardens in the city for them to be able to distribute some funds to help with their projects.
c) Invitation to Commission on Children and Youth Community Corrections Forum-

➢ Adlournment -A motion was made by Rita Padron to adjourn the meeting and seconded by Carlos Valdez, Sr. The motion
was unanimously approved. Motion Carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:32 p.m.
