MINUTES I. Call to Order II. Roll Call of Members-Roll call was conducted by Hope Herrera. Members present: Rick Pedraza, Jerry Plemons, Huxley Smith, Kamlesh Bhikha, Gary McCoig, Adam Alvarez, Carlos Valdez Staff present: Stacie Talbert Anaya, Becky Perrin, Hope Herrera, Jay Ellington Members Absent: Chris Anderson, Dotson Lewis, Alissa Mejia III. Adoption of Minutes- Regular meeting — Adoption of Minutes from November 18, 2015 meeting First Carlos Valdez, Second Jerry Plemons, all in favor IV. Public Comment Please be advised that the Open Meetings Act prohibits the committee from responding and discussing your comments at length. The law only authorizes members to make a statement of factual information, recite an existing policy in response to the inquiry, or advise the citizen that this subject will be placed on an agenda at a later date. V. Police Department Report—Captain Robert Alvarado—Lovenskiold Park update—crime is down, less overdoses being reported,the transients have relocated to in front of St. Theresa Oso Bay Update—increased patrol due to lighting of new bird sculpture at Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve VI. Presentation for Discussion and Possible Action Parks& Recreation Beach Operations—New Trash Removal System—handouts included in packet VII. Old Business for Discussion and Possible Action VIII. Committee, Liaison/Staff Reports Finance/Marketing Task Force- Horticulture Task Force- Program Development Task Force— Watershore&Beach Advisory Committee Liaison— Planning&Development Task Force— Special Project Task Force— Director/Assistant Director Report a. Sherrill Park—how it is handled, reservations, etc. —events are scheduled around Veteran's events b. Collier Pool Update—up and running, bids came back in, split bid into 2 parts c. Program Master Plan Update—Ken Ballard here for 2 days last week, got in contact with other programs and made comparisons, moving forward with research still d. Update on Repurpose Park Sale—sale of 14 parks, 151 reading yesterday, 2nd next week, once for sale sign goes up, we have 30 days before entertaining bids. City Council has to approve and land acquisition division to help, revenue will go to Community Enrichment Fund the then plan to distribute funds to parks in the near surrounding areas, some parks property may be rezoned e.
