MINUTES
I. Due to absence of Chair, Rick Pedraza, Call to Order made by Vice Chair Kamlesh Bhikha at 5:30 pm
ii. Roll Call of Members-Roll call was conducted by Hope Herrera. Members present: Adam Alvarez,
Kamlesh Bhikha, Damla Eytemiz, Dotson Lewis, Alissa Mejia, Carlos Valdez, Sr., Doug McBee, Amy McCoy
and Jerry Plemons
Members Absent: Rick Pedraza and Gary McCoig
Staff present: Stacie Talbert Anaya, Becky Perrin and Hope Herrera
III. Adoption of Minutes- Regular meeting — September 14, 2016 meeting- First motion-Dotson Lewis, Jr.
and second-Adam Alvarez to adopt minutes, all in favor.
IV. Public Comment-None

V. Presentation for Discussion and Possible Action
• 2020—2021 TAAF Summer Games of Texas—Video shown and we won the bid to host here, last
weekend of July 2020-2021
• Introduction of New Police Department Liaison—Captain Patrick McMenamy; he let us know that
we can contact him with any issues and he will bring issues to us as well. Gave everyone his
contact info.

• Regional Youth Sports Complex Contract Update—Power Point Presentation
• Community Service Worker Program Update-tabled

• Finance/Marketing Task Force—No Report
• Horticulture Task Force—Carlos Valdez, Sr.—No Report
• Program Development Task Force—Program Managers gave summer stats over programs
• Watershore&Beach Advisory Committee Liaison—Dotson Lewis,Jr. attended the meeting and reported their main
concern is signage.
• Planning&Development Task Force—Bath house, master plan to review for RFQ inclusive playground @ Salinas Park,
Schanen Hike&Bike Trail 10/15 @ 10 am at Snead Park
• Special Project Task Force—1s`meeting last week,good discussions,need to get vendor policies,fees,scope of
services, how long of a term,set up and usage fee policy, if there will be a parking fee,look into benches at Sherrill Park
• Island Strategic Action Committee Liaison—Billish Park improvements,Adam Assigned to this committee and Dotson is
ex-officio
Director/Assistant Director Report
➢ Altruism Institute Update—invitation only conference that Stacie was invited to, she said the
workshops were incredible and she really enjoyed being invited and being able to attend with other
park professionals
➢ TML Conference Update—Stacie attended and is now a member since she is the President of
TRAPS, January 25—Walk the Halls in Austin and on February 8—Delegation issues about CC
➢ NRPA Institute Update—Held in St. Louis, MO Oct 4-7th, Becky reported that the group that
attended different programming, specifically on Autism, inclusion, tweens, alphas and art work in
cities,Accreditation

• Group asked about tour of facilities
X. Identify items to be placed on next agenda—December 14, 2016
• Volunteer Recognition being held same day as regularly scheduled PRAC monthly meeting, attend
recognition event instead of meeting on November 91h at 5:30 at Garden Senior Center
• Community Service Worker Program Update
