MINUTES I. Call to Order at 5:30pm II. Roll call was conducted by Hope Herrera. Members present: Adam Alvarez, Dotson Lewis, Amy McCoy, Alissa Mejia, Rick Pedraza, Jerry Plemons , and Carlos Valdez, Sr. Members Absent: Doug McBee and Damla Eytemiz-working III. Adoption of Minutes- Regular meeting — Adoption of Minutes from December 14, 2016- 151, Dotson Lewis, 2nd Carlos Valdez Approval of Absences from December 14,2016 meeting; Doug McBee— 151, Dotson Lewis, 2nd Carlos Valdez IV. Public Comment Please be advised that the Open Meetings Act prohibits the committee from responding and discussing your comments at length.The law only authorizes members to make a statement of factual information,recite an existing policy in response to the inquiry,or advise the citizen that this subject will be placed on an agenda at a later date. V. Police Department Report—Captain McMenamy regarding Blucher Park; 54 calls dispatched anywhere from suspicious person,transients, self-initiated, man down, robbery and drug possession. He suggested changing signage about no camping and the verbiage needs to be changed as well VI. Presentation for Discussion and Possible Action VII. Old Business for Discussion and Possible Action • Bayshore Park Task Force Report—Stacie gave a Power Point Presentation • Bayshore Park Design and Construction—talked about signage to tell patrons parking fee goes back into the parks, maybe a donation box or use of tokens. Bill Pettus gave a Power Point Presentation over Rebranding. Vote of Support; 151 Dotson Lewis, 2nd Carlos Valdez, all in favor IX. Committee, Liaison/Staff Reports • Finance/Marketing Committee— no report • Horticulture Task Force—no report • Program Development Committee— It's Time Texas, Collier Pool Update,West Guth construction to start in summer, program managers will do presentations on Pickle Ball and providing services at Ethel Eyerly • Watershore& Beach Advisory Committee Liaison—Updates on 6 pack • Planning & Development Committee—Master Plan RFQ Review move to City Council by February • Special Project Task Force—Bayshore Park presentation and discussion • Island Strategic Action Committee Liaison- Director/Assistant Director Reports o Adopt-A-Park Update—Power Point Presentation with application and procedures, list of adopted parks o Program Master Plan Update—thinking of combing Park& Program Master Plan together bring back in March to be approved for Accreditation X. Committee Member Comments/Announcements ➢ Dotson went to a Ropes Park Presentation about the Aviator Memorial,they are$7,000 short XI.
