I. Call to Order at 5:34 pm by Stacie Talbert Anaya
ii. Roll Call of Members was conducted by Hope Herrera. Members present: Adam Alvarez, Damla Eytemiz
Dotson Lewis, Jerry Plemons, Terry Ray, Dr. Lloyd Stegemann and Carlos Valdez, Sr.
Members Absent: Doug McBee—family vacation; Amy McCoy—work meeting,Alissa Mejia—new babies,
Rick Pedraza—work deadline
III. Adoption of Minutes- Regular meeting — Adoption of Minutes from February 8, 2017— 151 Carlos Valdez,

IV. Public Comment

V. Police Department Report—Blucher Park and Parker Park
Migration, 6AM walk out/run out of all transients in park, more patrol by daytime officers,feedings on
Wednesdays and Sundays have been moved to the church at 409 Carancuhua, PD has expressed their
concerns to church about feedings; Parker Park has huge problem with feedings

IX. Committee, Liaison/Staff Reports
• Finance/Marketing Committee—no meeting
• Horticulture Task Force—planting of 37 trees at Cullen Park,AEP donated 17
• Program Development Committee—discussed swimming schedule for Nay closure, Latchkey
Vacation Station, TC Ayers and Al Kruse issues
• Watershore& Beach Advisory Committee Liaison—gearing up for Spring Break
• Planning & Development Committee—no meeting
• Bayshore Task Force—presentation earlier in meeting
• Island Strategic Action Committee Liaison—new light on island, beach bollards and traffic change,
Billish Park and PIPOA involvement
Director/Assistant Director Reports
o Texas Recreation and Parks Society(TRAPS)Annual Institute-Stacie gave a review of the
conference, the department won two awards in Class 1, one for Oso Bay Wetlands and one for our
Art program
o Accreditation Update—nearing the end of the final draft, submitting on Friday, March 241h,we will
know a decision in October,the representatives will visit us in June
o Repurpose Parks Update—tabled until April Meeting

• Jerry—would like tour of facilities
• Terry—Bill Witt Park vandalized trail, CCPD didn't respond, sign needs to be changed with correct
contact info
