Call to Order by Dotson Lewis at 5:31 pm II. Roll Call of Members: Dotson Lewis, Jerry Plemons, Bobby Broderick, Amy McCoy, Alissa Mejia, Casandra Lorentson, Flo East, Mandy Cox, Hannah Husby and Twila Stevens. Members absent: Donnie Contreras (submitted resignation). III. Adoption of Minutes- Regular meeting — Adoption of Minutes from January 9, 2019— 1St, Amy McCoy, 2nd Bobby Broderick, Unanimous thereafter. IV. Public Comment— None. V. Police Department Report—Captain James Lerma, PD Liaison for the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee presented report. Call Logs/Reports: Blucher Park—5 investigations, 3 quality of life. CCPD will enforce park curfew to ensure the safety of the birders; Oveal Williams Center— 1 suspicious person. South Bluff Park—6 suspicious; Ben Garza— 1 injured person; Dolphin Park— 1 quality of life, 1 loud music and 2 parking violations; 286/Agnes corridor—that area has been cleared. CCPD will also be present at Blucher Park during clean up by Youth Odyssey. VI. Presentations • Community Enrichment Fund — Presentation conducted by Becky Perrin, Interim Director. Presentation handout distributed. VII. Old Business • SQH —Presentation conducted by SQH at City Council meeting February 12th. A vote was taken by City Council to move forward with contract agreement under new proposal - $50,000 year lease; no City funds will be used for the project. It will go before the City Council as a second reading on February 26th. The first 67 acres will be combined into the new agreement. The City will be able to use the Complex at no cost, one weekend per year. VIII. New Business for Discussion and Possible Action • None IX. Committee, Liaison/Staff Reports— Island Strategic Action Committee— Dotson Lewis requested Beach Superintendent present a report on beach operations and provide updates. Watershore & Beach Advisory Committee—Jerry Plemons proposed that a PRAC meeting be held at the Beach Operations Office and also receive a tour of beach. B. Perrin stated a tour could be taken of any of our facilities. He also provided an update on the North Beach Sand Nourishment project. London & Southside Area Advisory Committee—Casandra Lorentson reported on the first meeting held January 11th. They committee reviewed maps of the southside and London area. A Town hall meeting was also conducted on January 28th. This summer Del Mar College is going to break ground on the new Southside campus. X. Director Report • Tennis Centers Management- The contracts will before City Council as a consent item at the February 22nd meeting. Mandy Cox stated concern from CCTA. • Labonte Park Camping —is now available for Easter camping. Registration is available online. • Parks and Recreation Department Presentation —Staff conducted the presentation for Council Member Gil Hernandez. Staff will conduct the presentation to PRAC at next meeting. • Cole Park Skate Park—an inspection has identified small repairs in seams. • Bond Project Updates—Sarah Munoz, Interim Assistant Director, has visited recreation facilities to prioritize and identify repairs at facilities to prepare for future bond projects. XI. Committee Member Comments/Announcements/Agenda Requests • Mandy Cox requested an update on which items would be going before the City Council on a monthly basis.
