Call to Order by Dotson Lewis at 5:31 pm II. Roll Call of Members: Dotson Lewis, Jerry Plemons, Bobby Broderick, Amy McCoy, Alissa Mejia, Casandra Lorentson, Flo East, Mandy Cox, Hannah Husby and Twila Stevens. III. Adoption of Minutes- Regular meeting — Adoption of Minutes from February 13, 2019— 1St, Bobby Broderick, 2nd, Flo East, Unanimous thereafter. IV. Public Comment— None. V. Police Department Report—Captain William Broyles, is the new PD Liaison for the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee presented report. He is aware of the issues at Blucher Park and the Special Park Designation being drafted by the Legal Department. VI. Presentations • Parks and Recreation Department— Presentation conducted by Becky Perrin, Interim Director. VII. Old Business • SQH —The revised contract is being handled by the Legal Department. The item will tentatively go to Council March 29tH VIII. New Business for Discussion and Possible Action • Member Vacancy—Members reviewed the applications received from the City Secretary's Office to fill one vacancy. After a thorough review of the applicants, the PRAC is recommending to City Council to endorse Howard Schauer (Dist. 3 resident)to serve on the Committee. Their second choice is Hileigh Shaw and third choice Jody Hughes. Motion made by 1St Many Cox, 2nd Amy McCoy, unanimously approved. IX. Committee, Liaison/Staff Reports— Island Strategic Action Committee— Dotson Lewis provided the updates. He reported an issue with access to the new Dog Park by the group adopting the area. Watershore & Beach Advisory Committee—No report. London & Southside Area Advisory Committee—No report. X. Director Report • Tennis Centers Management- HEB Tennis Center contracted for 3 years and Al Kruse Tennis Center contracted for 5 years. • Billish Park—Staff met with the PIPOA to review the contract and responsibilities of organization. • 6 Points Area—The median is Parks property and staff is requesting feedback from Committee if artwork would be supported for this location. The PRAC Committee would support art work at this location. • New Director—Jermel Stevenson has been appointed the new Parks and Recreation Director and will begin April 1, 2019. XI. Committee Member Comments/Announcements/Agenda Requests- REVISE • Beach Operations Update and Tour • Update on Splash Pads and Parks selected XII. Adjournment at 8:06 p.m.
