Call to Order by Dotson Lewis at 5:30 pm II. Roll Call of Members: Dotson Lewis, Jerry Plemons, Bobby Broderick, Amy McCoy, Alissa Mejia, Casandra Lorentson, Mandy Cox, Howard Schauer and Twila Stevens. Excused absence: Flo East and Hanna Husby. III. Adoption of Minutes- Regular meeting — Adoption of Minutes from May 8, 2019— 1St, Bobby Broderick, 2nd, Amy McCoy, Unanimous thereafter. IV. Public Comment— None. V. Police Department Report—Captain William Broyles distributed report on status of patrolled parks. He also offered an update on Parker Park. VI. Presentations • Boards and Commissions Roles and Responsibilities—conducted by Paul Pierce with the City Secretary's Office. • Games of Texas—overview provided by Jermel Stevenson, Parks Director. VII. Old Business • Splash Pads and Community Enrichment Fund briefing will go to City Council in July. VIII. New Business for Discussion and Possible Action • Blucher Park Ordinance—Asst. Chief Mark Schauer presented an overview of the proposed ordinance amendment. The purpose of the ordinance amendment is to control behavior at the park and control the type of items taken into the park. Motion made by Jerry Plemons for the PRAC to endorse the proposed changes in prohibiting certain activities at Blucher Park. 2nd by Mandy Cox, All approved. IX. Committee, Liaison/Staff Reports— Island Strategic Action Committee— Dotson Lewis asked if a contractor could Adopt A Park and include their signage. He also invited members to The Waves grand opening. Watershore & Beach Advisory Committee—no report London & Southside Area Advisory Committee—no report. X. Director Report—Jermel Stevenson, Director • Summer Programs in full gear • Work being done at Doddridge Park, therefore the parking lot is closed due to asphalt failure. • Flags for Heroes will expand into other parks this year XI. Committee Member Comments/Announcements/Agenda Requests- • HEB Pool—what is the pool capacity? • Timetable for Doddridge Park • Propose increase in Beach Permit fee • Master Plan Update • Food Truck registration process XII.
