Mr. Whitworth explained that in keeping with the Committee's request to tour the department's
various facilities, the regular meeting time had been moved to 2:00 p.m. in order that they

him to continue serving.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF SPECIAL CALLED MEETING OF MARCH 2, 1994:
Vice-Chairman Rodriguez noted he had requested a workshop on CDBG projects, which was
not reflected. With this amendment, Ms. Stewart moved the minutes be approved. Mr.
Valenzuela seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
CURRENT CONCERNS: Vice-Chairman Rodriguez questioned the status of CDBG projects.
Mr. Whitworth responded that the additional funds as recommended by the Committee for the
Youth Sports Complex and for scholarships was not recommended by the CDBG staff.
Mr. Valenzuela questioned the timeframe for arrival of the 32 additional golf carts for the Oso
Municipal Golf Course, adding that carts are being transferred from the Gabe Lozano course
to supplement the Oso's fleet.
Mr. Ruiz inquired if it would be possible to get the fee waived at the landfill when the
volunteers take trash and rubble from the Youth Sports Complex as they are helping the City
maintain the area. Mr. Whitworth explained that the leagues have a lease on those fields and
it is their responsibility to maintain them, however, staff will contact Solid Waste Services for
a determination.
