ACTION ITEM #8: PROPOSED TENT PAVILION FOR PLAZA
The Friends of the Corpus Christi Museum of Science & History (the Friends) desire to replace a
tent structure on the outdoor Museum plaza that was destroyed during Hurricane Harvey. This
structure served to provide an extended area for programming and events at the museum. The
Friends received $125,000 in funding from Rebuild Texas to provide a replacement outdoor
pavilion structure.
Extensive research into tent structures was conducted. The Loseberger De Boer tent structure
was selected for its durability, cost and flexibility for modification and future extension. A copy
of the specifications for the structure are attached. Loseberger is a 100-year-old, world-
renowned company that provides event tents, storage marquees, exhibition halls, containers,
mobile room modules and fast-construction room systems. Their products are used for a wide
range of purposes. For instance, as event and fair marquees, administrative buildings, storage,
exhibition and production halls, workshops, airport terminals, hangars, mobile hospitals, field
camps and many more. Their structures serve as rapid deployment tent systems for our
military.
Local Loseberger distributor, Illusions Rentals and Designs, will provide the tent and installation.
All work is performed by Illusions. Subcontractors will not be utilized. Permitting, bonds or
other city requirements will be met.
The tent structure selected based on budget will be approximately 100’x32’, have vinyl siding
and a raised floor to allow drainage under the unit. The unit will be situated in the same
location as the former tent structure.
This needed structure will add tremendous value to the museum, enabling events, rentals and
extended opportunity for the community to engage with the museum and the S.E.A. district.

Product information:
easyflex Basic P5N/easyflex plus Basic P5N
Available from 10 - 15 m, the easyflex offers an alternative among the Losberger large tent sys-
tems, combining high quality and an attractive price.
The material and construction offer the high standard of performance for which Losberger is
renowned. Consistent optimisation of basic features, simplification of the frame system and the
omission of modular related features in particular, make this large tent system especially cost-
effective.
Are you looking for a quality system at an attractive price, but offering more options than the
standard easyflex version? If so, the easyflex plus version is the right choice. It offers additional
options for using the Losberger system cassette flooring and system wall elements of hard-PVC
or glass.
easyflex or easyflex plus – the right choice when attractive price and perfect function matter.

The 4D cinema experience provides a totally immersive environment, where you actually "feel"
the action on the screen from the built-in motion and effects in the seats and theater around you.
Visitors will become engaged in educational programming from space missions to environmental
excursions as they enjoy the adrenaline rush when their seat rolls and tilts in a heart-pounding
dinosaur chase or rocket launch. They will be immersed in a sea-faring scene with fog, wind, and
the scent of ocean air.
As the naming sponsor, your logo will boldly appear in the grand theater entrance of the 80-seat
theater in the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. You will have the opportunity to
work with our designers and team to create the appropriate look and entrance for the theater.

PURPOSE
The museum desires to inspire and engage youth in S.T.E.M. careers
through an interactive kiosk within its Science Center. The
computer-based kiosk will allow visitors to respond to questions
about their personal and career interests, then match their
responses to S.T.E.M. career opportunities and present information
about these careers. Insights into courses, programs and
educational pursuits will be offered. The kiosk will show video clips
from real individuals in the computer-matched careers who will talk
about their professions, daily life, and examples of their work. The
purpose of this touch screen kiosk is to introduce and excite children
and young adults about science-based career opportunities and
encourage them to further their education and see new, exciting
possibilities for their future.
UNIQUENESS
The interactive career kiosk will be the first of its kind in Texas! It
will offer visitors the opportunity to personalize their experience.
The career kiosk will have stronger engagement than other
programs that present the most known S.T.E.M.-based career
opportunities. The goal of this project is to broaden the scope and
range of young minds by providing individualized content and
inspiring them toward educational excellence and successful
futures. We have seen tremendous growth in the Port of Corpus
Christi region, where there is a need for qualified employees with
science and math degrees. This kiosk will be an instrumental step
toward educating our youth about these opportunities, while
encouraging them to find value in their interests in seeking a career
in the specified area.
RESULT
The S.T.E.M. career interactive will help to engage our youth in their
school work by enabling them to see real world value in their science
and math classes, thereby encouraging them to remain in school.
The career interactive will also allow visitors to see exciting
possibilities and opportunities for their future, inspiring them to
furthering their education, pursue S.T.E.M.-based careers, and see
opportunities for them to explore their options.
