MINUTES - SECRETARY'S OFFICE
MARCH 3, 2011
The meeting was called to order at 3:00 pm by Tony Lopez, RSVP Advisory Committee
Chair. A quorum of members was present.
Roll Call
Roll call was conducted and members present were Tony Lopez, Betty McDonel, Maggie
Ramsey, Jennifer Larivey. Committee Members not present were Herlinda Escobar-
Cantu and Arthur Carrillo.
Approval of Minutes (for Feb 3, 2011)
Motion made by Tony Lopez to approve the minutes; seconded by Jennifer Larivey.
Motion carried.
Overview of RSVP: Sylvia Tryon Oliver, RSVP Program Director gave a report of
program events and operations.
New Business: None.
Old Business: The by-laws will be reviewed along with program planning and
establishing a sub-committee.
Upcoming Events: National Volunteer Week is April 10-16. During the April 12, 2011
City Council meeting the 90+volunteers will be recognized. The Texas State Senior
Corps Conference will be held on April 26-28, 2011 at the Omni Hotel. Sylvia informed
the committee that giveaways are needed to fill 100 event bags for the attendees, and
asked each member to see what they can contribute. A Meet and Greet will be held on
April 27, 2011 at Executive Surf Club hosted by RSVP, Senior Companion Program and
Foster Grandparents. On May 12, 2011, the 10th Annual Senior Corp Recognition
Banquet will be held at the Solomon P. Ortiz Center. Reservations are now being made
for the next casino bus trip to L'Auberge De Lac, May 18-20, 2011.

There being no further business, Maggie Ramsey moved and Betty McDonel seconded to
adjourn the meeting.
