CALL TO ORDER—The meeting was called to order by Chair Sue Dulaney.
ROLL CALL — The roll was called and the recording secretary Rosie Alaniz announced
that a quorum was present at 5:35 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES —
I. TREASURER'S REPORT— Mr. Ronnie Sepulveda informed the committee that the
current balance in the General Fund is $15,993.00 and the Trust Fund is $3,275.88. He
also stated that there are souvenirs if anyone has any visitors.
DISCUSSION ITEMS:
A. Student exchanges packets were sent to all local high schools. The deadline for
packages to be turned in is February 9, 2001. Suggested exchange dates should be
July 5-19 for our student to go to respective Sister Cities and July 20 —August 3 we
will receive visitors from our Sister Cities.
COMMITTEE REPORTS-
Fundraising Committee- Chair Sue Dulaney suggested committee start thinking about
fundraisers. Chris Barnes suggested researching old fundraising events to see which
one was profitable.
Monterrey, Mexico- Ann Jaime stated that there is a new person in charge of her sister
city.
Veracruz, Mexico- Rachel Gonzales stated that she has attempted to contact, but is
having trouble with contact information.
Yokosuka, Japan- Gary Hansen will be working on dates for VIP exchange
Toledo, Spain-
Agen, France- Danielle will be visiting this summer.
Keelung, Taiwan- No Report
Chair Dulaney suggested that staff send a letter of introduction and proposed exchange
dates to Sister Cities.
STAFF REPORTS- Mr. Sepulveda notified members that dues for last year were not
paid. This year's dues are due and will be paid as budgeted. Ms. Combs stated that

the committee voted to reevaluate Sister City International's benefits and determine if
we shouldcontinue to be members of SCI. It would be against the committee's vote if
the City were to pay the dues prior committee's decision. Mr. Sepulveda stated that the
committee may vote on expenditures from trust fund, but the general fund in approved
by City Council annually.
Sister City International conference is on July 25-28 2001 in Atlanta, two delegates will
be selected.
CURRENT CONCERNS — Gary Hansen stated he would have to resign if the meeting
time stays at 5:30. Discussion of time change will be placed on February's agenda.
(Rachel left at 6:15 p.m.)
ADJOURNMENT —As there was no further business, Drew Combs motioned to adjourn
the meeting and was seconded by Lucy Reta. Adjournment at 6:40 p.m.
