CALL TO ORDER — The regular meeting of the Sister City Steering Committee was called to order at 6:15 p.m. by Chair, Sue Dulaney. II. ROLL CALL — Recording Secretary, K Chute called roll, announced quorum. III. APPROVAL/CORRECTION OF MINUTES from November 5, 2001 meeting - The minutes were approved as written. IV. TREASURER'S REPORT — Ronnie Sepulveda reported the General Fund balance is $15,611.53 and the Trust Fund is $1,382.82. V. HEARING FROM THE PUBLIC — none INTRODUCTION — Sue Dulaney introduced Derek Shoemaker, a student at TX A&M, Kingsville. He is doing a report on our Committee for his Political Science class. VI. DISCUSSION ITEMS — none (Francis Powell arrived at 6:18 p.m.) VII. COMMITTEE REPORTS — A. Agen, France — Danielle Pearrell was absent. B. Keelung, Taiwan — Yalee Shih gave an update and lead discussion regarding the Asian Cultures Museum sponsored trip of approximately 35 students and chaperones. Mufid Abudiab, Edna Balboa and Rose Gunji volunteered to be host families. The Committee will host a welcome celebration at the Galvan House. (Marvin Davis arrived at 6:30 p.m.) C. Monterrey, Mexico —Anne Jaime said there was nothing new to report. D. Toledo, Spain — Dr. Jesus Rosales is continuing their correspondence. E. Veracruz, Mexico — Mannti Cummins gave hisproposed goals and lead discussion. SCANNED (Gary Hansen arrived at 6:37 p.m.) F. Yokosuka, Japan —Gary Hansen said there was nothing new to report. G. Volunteer Exchange Program — Gary Hansen and Mr. Kawasaki are continuing their discussion of a March 2002 date. H. 2002 Young Artist Competition — Rose Gunji said there was nothing new to report. I. 40th Anniversary with Yokosuka and the City's 150 Anniversary - Drue Combs is continuing to work toward an October trip. J. Fund-Raising Report— Lucy Reta was absent. K. Visitor's Package -Wayne Bennett said there was nothing new to report. VIII. STAFF REPORT— Ronnie Sepulveda will write the letter to each Sister City representative to introduce our new Chairpersons and suggest visitation dates for 2002. IX. CURRENT CONCERNS — none X. ADJOURNMENT— Drue Combs made a motion to adjourn at 6:42 p.m. Ann Jaime seconded. The motion passed. Ronald Sepulvedae Multicultural Services Division, Park & Recreation Department
