Rock, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 2:33 p.m. II. Approval of Minutes - Minutes of April 26, 2010 were approved. III. Presentations and Discussions - a. Monthly Traffic Fatality Report: Item tabled until next month. b. Monthly Bicycle and Pedestrian Subcommittee Report: Karen Beard told the committee that she was not present at the last meeting but that the meeting was canceled because there was not a quorum. c. Doddridge St. Speed Limit Signs Update: Mr. Cardenas informed the committee that the speed limit signs have already been posted on Doddridge St. between Ocean Dr. and Staples St. and doesn't know if there has been any enforcement ever since the signs were posted. Mr. Cardenas said that during the construction project the 30 mph speed limit signs were not replaced and seeing as the construction project was completed there were no speed limit signs to notify motorists that there was change in speed, going from 35 mph (west of Doddridge St. at Staples St.) to 30 mph (east of Doddridge St. from Staples St. to Ocean Dr.). Mr. Cardenas stated that the signs were replaced by city forces and not by the contractor, in view of the fact that the construction project was already completed and sold. d. TAC New Appointments Introduction: Mr. Rock introduced Mr. Robert G. Jacobi, the only new appointment present and asked him to introduce himself. Mr. Jacobi mentioned that he retired a few years ago from the Port of Corpus Christi and he was the deputy director for 12 years. Now, he volunteers at Driscoll Hospital and also has been working off and on for the Census Bureau and takes care of two grand-children. Mr. Jacobi continued to say that he graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy a very long time ago and that he has a Master's of Science degree from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. e. Safe Passing Ordinance Update: Mr. Cardenas stated that the Legal Department is preparing an agenda item to go to City Council, again as it was passed through the TAC and previously by the Bicycle and Pedestrian Subcommittee. The Legal Department is making sure that the terminology in the agenda item is legal and that there aren't any Loop holes. Mr. Cardenas stated that he will inform this committee,and the Bicycle and Pedestrian Subcommittee when this agenda item will go to City Council. SCANNED Page 1 of 2 IV. Staff Recommendations requiring Committee Review for Recommendations/ Actions - a. Appointments to the Bicycle and Pedestrian Sub-committee: Karen Beard stated that no new appointments were made to this committee. V. Identify items to be placed on a future agenda - • Upcoming Construction Projects • Update of Red Light Camera Program VI. Public Comment - No public comment. VII.
