I. CALL TO ORDER
Co-Chair,Jake Herring called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
II. ROLL CALL
The recording secretary called roll and announced that a quorum was present. Committee members
introduced themselves.
III.ADOPTION OF MINUTES
Regular called meeting-December 9, 2009. JoAnn Gilbertson asked that the minutes be corrected to
state that additional photos of the Corpus Christi Beach Bathhouse be presented at the next meeting.
Jim Needham made a motion to adopt the minutes as amended.JoAnn Gilbertson seconded. Minutes
were adopted without opposition.

V. BUSINESS FOR DISCUSSION/ACTION
New Business
Election of chair and co-chair
With new members, the committee needed to appoint a new chair and co-chair. Jim Needham
nominated Jake Herring for Chair. Rob Thomas seconded.Jake accepted the nomination.Willie Rivera,
Jr. made a motion to close nominations.Jim seconded. Nominations for chair were closed.The vote
was called to approve Jake's nomination for chair, nomination was approved.
Jake asked for nominations for co-chair.Jim nominated Kim Lemley. Rob seconded. JoAnn made a
motion to cease nominations for co-chair.Willie seconded.The vote was called to approve Kim's
nomination; nomination was approved.
Update on Packery Channel Dredging
Derek Herzog reported that the dredging is scheduled to be completed by the end of the week;
however, the sand fencing will not be completed till the latter part of the month.The majority of the sand
will go to the south end of the seawall, and the rest will go in front of the seawall.
Spring Break Plans
Spring Break plans have been submitted after meeting with the Police Department. Once it is approved,
Derek will inform the committee of the plan details. CBBEP will fund the dumpsters at the City's request.
Spring Break will begin March 12th through March 21st.
Cleaning of the Beachwalk
At a previous meeting, there were concerns expressed regarding the sand buildup on the Beachwalk.
Derek provided the maintenance schedule to the committee.The City's Tourist District Division performs
a quarterly removal on the entire walk. They are planning on purchasing a mechanized attachment to
pick up sand and clean the area more efficiently; and possibly installing a sand fence or stacked pavers
as a catch drift, if allowed.

2009 Beach Parking Permits
Sales for the City for 2009 totaled$654,911.00; this is an increase of about$120,000 over last year's
sales.The question was raised as to where the fine money is deposited. Derek will look into and provide
information at the next meeting. The committee discussed the cost of beach parking permits, and
methods of selling.
Old Business
Update on Water Quality
Dr. Mott reported that they have started sampling again on alternate weeks.They will go back to weekly
sampling in March.There will be some fairly significant cuts next year in terms of funding.There is a
draft of the 2010 Texas 303(d) list for water impairment that will be out for public comment soon.
Committee would like an update from Peggy Sumner on the water quality. Dr. Mott stated they will begin
using molecular markers to test for human contamination.

VII. Committee Concerns, Request for Information,Agenda Items
Identify Items to be placed on next agenda
Jake would like to have the committee view a map of the entire area in which the WBAC has jurisdiction
over. He stated the main focus has been on the Gulf Beach and the Bay Beaches, and has not
discussed other bodies of water.
The following items will be placed on the next agenda: Map of Area, Photos of CC Bathhouse,Anti-
Trash Campaign, Swimming near Jetty Warning Signs, Spring Break Update, and Where Beach Permit
Citations are Deposited.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT
As there was no further business, Jim made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Kim seconded. Jake
adjourned the meeting at 6:06 pm.
