I. CALL TO ORDER
In absence of the chair, Mr.Jake Herring called the meeting to order at 5:37 p.m.
II. ROLL CALL
The recording secretary called roll and announced that a quorum was present.
III.ADOPTION OF MINUTES
Regular called meeting November 5,2009. Dr. Joanna Mott made a motion to adopt the minutes
without any changes. Mr. Neil McQueen seconded. Minutes were adopted without opposition.

V. BUSINESS FOR DISCUSSION/ACTION
New Business
Status of Amenities on Windward Parking Lot
Mrs. Thomas reported that the Windward Parking Lot restroom facility is approximately 55%complete.
The projected end date is in March.The work done during Christmas break will determine if it is
completed prior to Spring Break. The City's Beach Operations crew will maintain the restrooms, but may
require additional equipment to ensure adequate maintenance.
In addition,the front landscape bed at the Windward Parking Lot has been finalized.The bed includes
different colored landscape rock which accents the existing plants. The height of the planter boxes was
increased in order to place trash receptacles inside.The City is looking into placing recycle bins.The
committee suggested the Beach Operations crew coordinate with other Park Operations crews
regarding proper facility maintenance for the restrooms.
CC Beach Bathhouse
Mrs.Thomas consulted with the Graffiti Taskforce Regarding the changing of the paint color at the
Corpus Christi Beach Bathhouse.They would prefer the paint color be left as is to avoid drawing
attention of vandals. Photos of the other side of the building were requested for the next meeting. Mrs.
Gilbertson asked if the doors were going to be replaced. Mrs. Thomas will check with Facility
Maintenance on the status.
2009 Lifeguard Report
Mr. Derek Herzog delivered Season Incident Report for Gulf Beach Division. He reported that summer
2009 was the most active summer to date. The City purchased 2 new vehicles and constructed 2 new
lifeguard stands. In addition, 4 more staff members were added to the team. The amount of beach
goers served increased by over 300% than the previous year. Mr. Herzog included charts showing the
data gathered from 2009.
Packery Channel Construction (Dredging and Zahn Road)
Packery Channel Dredging project will cause temporary closure of Beach Access Road 3a December
10, 2009 through December 16, 2009. Once project begins the road and boat ramp will be closed
January 2, 2010 until Saturday,January 31,2010.
Construction of new Zahn roadway is set to begin December 1,2009 through March 1, 2010.
2010 Beach Parking Permits SJI4NNEIJ
Beach Parking Permits arrived for 2010. City ordered 150,000 for the new year and reported sales of
over 120,000 for 2009.The new color chosen was maroon.
Old Business
Update on Park Police
Mr. Garrison was not available for update.
Update on Water Quality
Dr. Mott reported that they took samples last week.They will not be sampling again until the second
week of January.
VI. Staff Liaison Report
Mrs. Thomas informed the committee that reappointments for the Watershore and Beach Advisory
Committee will be in January.
VII. Committee Concerns, Request for Information,Agenda Items
Identify Items to be placed on next agenda
The following items will be placed on the next agenda: Report from Facility Maintenance, Police
Department info prior to Spring Break, Update on dredging status, HOT fund monies, and Beachwalk
cleaning.

As there was no further business, Mr.Jim Needham made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mrs. Joann
Gilbertson seconded. Mr. Herring adjourned the meeting at 6:34 pm.
