MINUTES
MUNICIPAL GREENS COMMITTEE
August 25, 1993
The monthly meeting of the Municipal Greens Committee met August 25, 1993, at 5:00 p.m.
Officers in attendance were: Chairman Orville Ponder, Vice-Chairman Lou Stewart, and
Secretary Ray Wanek.
Members Present were: Bettie Giraudin, Jessie Rodriguez, Bill Hatfield, Willy Antonetz,
and Morris Powers.
Also attending were Golf Pros Red Taylor, Bruce Haddad, Golf Superintendent Scott
Roberts and Park and Recreation Staff Mike Gordon.
Motion made and seconded for the approval of the minutes, minutes approved.
Staff Report New cash registers will be in operation at both courses. New functions will
keep track of play, times of play, local golfers, visitors, etc.
Club house restrooms will be updated with new paint and maintenance as required,updating
the course restrooms at Lozano are in the planning.
Overseeding will be in middle of October, fertilizing greens and fairways in September.
Some new equipment has arrived for use on the golf courses.
By Laws Review and Update- This report has not been finalized and should be available
next meeting.
Member Concerns: Bettie Geraudin inquired if aerifying the Oso course would interfere
with inter-city golf play on September 15th. Mr. Roberts commented that it would not.
Adjournment. A motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:00 was made by Bill Hatfield and
seconded by Billy Antonetz.
The next meeting will be held September 29th at 5:00 p.m.
