MINUTES
MUNICIPAL GREENS COMMITTEE
October 26, 1994
CALL TO ORDER: The regular monthly meeting of the Municipal Greens
Committee was called to order at 5 : 00 p.m. on October 26, 1994 at
the Oso Beach Municipal Golf Course by Chairman Orval Ponder.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Orval Ponder, Lee Smith, Ray Wanek, Sue Bradshaw
for Ruby Fontana and Morris Powers .
MEMBERS ABSENT: Robert Rivera, Bill Hatfield, Willy Antonetz,
Walter Nielsen and Cefe Valenzuela.
STAFF PRESENT: Mike Gordon, Dan Buder, Scott Roberts, Roy Pickering
and Bruce Haddad.
Others attendance, Joe Perez, Head Marshall at Oso.
The minutes of the September meeting were corrected to reflect
Willy Antonetz was absent from the meeting and not present as
reported. Chairman Ponder indicated he would contact the absent
members.
Staff reported the winter seeding had been completed and good
germination had occurred. The seed blend for the over seeding was
changed this year from a blend of annual and perennial ryes to a
blend of Poa trivialis and ryes.
The Greens Committee approved a motion to suspend the November and
December meetings due to the holidays .
CURRENT CONCERNS: Members mentioned the need to treat fire ants at
Oso and the drainage problem in the front of the parking lot .
NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be at Oso Beach on January 25,
1994 at 5 : 00 p.m. The meeting was adjourned at approximately 6 : 00
p.m. by Chairman Ponder.
