AMENDMENT NO. 4
CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi,Texas,a Texas home-rule municipal corporation("City")and Freese and Nichols,Inc.
("Consultant"),agree to the following amendments to the Contract for Professional Services for Downtown Road
and Streetscape Improvements BOND 2014 (Project No. E15098):
Original Contract October 18, 2016 Motion No. M2016-137 $115,067.00
Amendment No. 1 December 19, 2016 Administrative Approval $10,643.00
Amendment No. 2 April 19, 2018 Administrative Approval $35,857.00
Amendment No. 3 May 14, 2018 Administrative Approval $23,324.00
In the Original Contract, Exhibit"A", Section I. Scope of Services shall be amended as set forth in the attached
Amendment No. 4, Exhibit"A".
In the Original Contract, Section III shall be amended based on the modified scope of services in the attached
Amendment No. 4, Exhibit "A" for a fee not to exceed $22,013.00, for a total restated fee not to exceed
$206,904.00.00.
All other terms and conditions of the October 18, 2016 Contract for Professional Services between the City and
Consultant,and of any amendments to that contract,which are not specifically addressed herein shall remain in full
force and effect.

Re: Downtown Road and Streetscape Improvements (Bond 2014)
City Project No. E15098-Amendment#4 (Rev. 1)
Dear Mr. Edmonds,
At the request of your staff, Freese and Nichols, Inc. is pleased to submit our revised contract
amendment#4 for Downtown Road and Streetscape Improvements (Bond 2014). This amendment
includes Design and Construction Administration phase services effort as follows:
1. Add Design Phase Services (Lump Sum)
a. Prepare cost estimate for proposed banner support structures ($2,939)
i. Develop preliminary design to complete accurate cost estimate
ii. Generate cost estimate based on preliminary design
b. Develop photo realistic renderings for alternate planter colors and logo colors ($4,200)
2. Add Construction Phase Services (Time and Materials)
a. Assist with Change Order No. 1 execution for new landscaping on Chaparral Street
($3,192)
b. Additional landscaping inspections for base bid ($1,740)
i. Additional inspections of installed plants required to verify compatibility to
construction documents and specifications after it was determined that many of
the plants,the planting soil, and the self-watering inserts were installed
incorrectly.
c. Additional coordination for trash can relocation ($1,452)
i. Coordinate efforts with contractor to relocate trashcans as requested by
Downtown Management District (DMD)
d. Additional coordination for concrete traffic island reconstruction ($3,770)
i. Coordinated with the city to provide additional site visits and guidance on traffic
island reconstruction in accordance with construction documents and
specifications after the contractor incorrectly located the Mesquite/IH 37 island
and the Agnes/Kinney Island.
e. Additional coordination for Agnes overhead signs for design modifications ($4,720)

i. Additional reviews, meetings, and coordination required for the approval of a
new sign with larger fonts and symbols after the contractor failed to address
reviewer comments on the Upper Broadway sign submittal.
Freese and Nichols, Inc. respectfully requests a contract amendment in the amount of$7,139(Lump
Sum)for Design Phase Services and $14,874 (Time and Materials) for Construction Phase Services to
address the aforementioned items, for a total amendment value of$22,013.00.
As always,Time and Materials effort will be billed with accompanying time charge information.
