Staff Present: Laura Garcia, Library Director; Patricia Herrera, Public Services Manager
Call to Order: Alice Nixon called the meeting to order at 10:37 a.m.
Approval of minutes: A motion to approve the minutes of the last meeting was made by Candy Hart
and seconded by Nicole Carroll. Motion passed unanimously.
Friends' Report: Roberta Sewell reported that the Friends are creating a better flow for their finances.
They have finished going through their financial statements.
Director's Report: Laura Garcia reported that the "Browse and Go" hours on Saturday at La Retama
Central Library were successful. La Retama Central Library opened for browsing on Saturday,
September 12. Eighty-four people came to the library and checked out 200 library items. La Retama
Central Library saw 34 people come in the door with 196 checkouts on the program's second Saturday.
CCPL aims to open all its branches to the public in the next several months.
Carpet on the first floor of La Retama has been taken out. It is being replaced by vinyl tiles in a wood
finish.
CCPL's budget for FY2021 passed with no changes. They are advertising for the newly created part-
time and custodial positions.
CCPL staff produced 32 original videos which had 311 views for the month of September.
New Business: Ms. Nixon asked that a motion be made to excuse Ida Hobbs for her absence at
September's meeting. Ms. Hart made the motion. Ms. Rogers seconded it and the motion passed
unanimously.
