MINUTES
I. Call to Order- at 5:38 pm by Joseph Miller, Chairperson
II. Roll Call of Members – Lisa Oliver
Present: Joseph Miller, Clarissa Mora, Melissa Sweating, Laurie Garcia, and Priscilla Baldilez
Absent: Christina Harrison
Staff: Lisa Oliver - Superintendent, Denise Pace - CCPD
III. Minutes from August 19, 2019 – 1st Clarissa Mora, 2nd Priscilla Baldillez, all approved.
IV. Public Comment
• None
V. Presentations
• Success by Six Community Assessment – presented by Sherry Peterson, United Way of the
Coastal Bend and Janna Shoe, United Way Info-Line
VI. New Business for Discussion and Possible Action
• Update on Committee Vacancies – Item will be presented before City Council on September 17,
2019 for the Educator slot.
VII. Old Business for Discussion and Possible Action
• Commission Master Plan and Goals – Joseph Miller, Chairperson, distributed an example of a
plan from Little Rock, Arkansas. The Committee will invite a guest speaker at the October
meeting. Clarissa Mora volunteered to invite Angela Luna with the Nueces County Juvenile
Justice Center.
