Meeting Minutes
October 16, 2020 3pm

Meeting began at 3:05pm
Old Business
SCP UPDATE: On March 16, 2020, COVID-19 forced SCP to have Companions tele serve
clients instead of physically going into homes. Now, volunteers are going out to run
errands, such as grocery shopping to assist the seniors who can’t go. There are a few
volunteers awaiting new client assignment. The program has temporarily extended the
volunteers allowance until January 27, 2021. The CNCS is rebranding all grants for
AmeriCorps Seniors. SCP effective September 30th. All office staff are currently working
from home to stay safe and continue social distancing. No RSVP Update at this time .
New Business
We are currently seeking a new chair and minute taker. Gary Burgar motioned Stephanie
Brown to be assigned as the Official Minute Taker/ Parliamentarian. Betsey Miller second
the motion. Motion passed. Joann Arevalo has the longest tenure with the program.
Stephanie Brown motioned for Joann Arevalo to be elected as the new chairmen. The
committee was in favor of the motion, Betsy Miller second the motion. The committee
agreed on reaching out to the previous members to build a subcommittee. If they are
interested, we would all meet quarterly to discuss different ways to help with events and
assisting the seniors in the community. These individuals all play a vital role in different
outreach programs within our community.
Next Meeting
The next meeting will be at The Galvan House on November 4, 2020, at 3:00pm. During the
next meeting, we will discuss a date and time that works for all members of the committee.
Joann Arevalo motioned for the meeting to be adjourn at 3:23pm and Betsy Miller second
the motion.
