I. Call to Order by Chairperson Melody Cooper at 12:05 p.m.
II. Roll Call of Members
Present: Melody Cooper, Luis Cabrera, Almira Flores, Mark Arnold, Susane Horn
Absent: Jason Page, Fernando Moral-Iglesias
Quorum was met

IV. Adoption of Minutes

V. Discussion / Action Items
Sister City Exchange Program – Discussed the limitations involved with student exchanges due to
the impact of COVID-19 and no longer needing to raise additional funds at this time due to previous
funds raised along with not being able to utilize current funds due to COVID-19.
Cultural Exchange Program – Discussed possibilities of exploring virtual meetings with neighboring
sister cities, virtual meetings with sister cities in other countries, virtual concerts, virtual art
exhibitions, and virtual interviews with students in sister cities located in other countries to learn
about student life and the impact that COVID-19 has had in their cities. All information can be posted
to the Sister City Committee Facebook webpage to brand and advertise efforts being put forth.
2020 Annual Report – Completed 2020 Annual Report through board collaboration and established
vision and goals for 2021. 2020 Annual Report was approved unanimously.
VI. Items to be placed on next agenda – Committee Member Comments/Announcements/Agenda Requests
New items for discussion include creation of new bylaws, distribution and management of funds
allocated to the Sister City Program, and further discussion on strategies and approaches for the
Sister City Exchange Program and Cultural Exchange Program.
