Call to Order by Chairperson Alissa Mejia at 5:35 p.m. II. Roll Call of Members • Present: Alissa Mejia, Twila Stevens, Florence East, Casandra Lorentson, Howard Schauer, Hannah Husby, Amy McCoy, Mandy Cox • Absent: Jacob Dryden, Lawrence Heatley, Diego Solis • Quorum was met. III. Public Engagement Plan • Parks & Recreation 10-Year Master Plans – Christian Lentz from HALFF Associates presented the Public Engagement Plan for the Parks & Recreation 10-Year Master Plans. Described the plan for the four general phases of the public engagement timeline. Described the different outreach methods that will be utilized including the project webpage, online surveys and maps, and virtual meeting rooms. • Casandra Lorentson asked how outreach will be performed for people without online access. Christian Lentz stated that other service providers throughout Corpus Christi will be contacted to help with providing those materials. Additionally, all of the materials will be printable. Alissa Mejia asked how outreach will be performed for the underserved communities. Christian Lentz stated that there will also be intercept surveys for those situations that will be provided via curbside or drive-by services. Twila Stevens asked whether the park designations described in the current master plan will still apply to those parks after the updated master plan, and whether the amenities chosen for parks will be compatible with neighboring homes. Christian Lentz stated that the master plan will definitely speak to having appropriate facilities/amenities for parks depending on the type of park they’re being installed in. Neighborhood parks are important and are intended to serve the immediate surrounding neighborhood. HALFF Associates typically doesn’t recommend restroom facilities or parking for neighborhood parks.
