TO THE
CDBG-CV SUBRECIPIENT AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI
AND
CORPUS CHRISTI HOPE HOUSE
This First Amendment ("First Amendment") is made by and between the City of Corpus
Christi ("City") and Corpus Christi Hope House ("Subrecipient").
WHEREAS, the City and the Subrecipient entered into a Subrecipient Funding
Agreement in FY2019 which was approved by the Corpus Christi City Council on April
21, 2020 ("Agreement"). The Agreement was for the purpose of utilizing the City's
FY2019 Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Response ("CDBG-CV")
funds for a project entitled Mortgage and Utility Assistance Program ("Project"); and
WHEREAS, Subrecipient has requested the City to add rental assistance as an eligible
activity under the existing funding for Project where it is more urgently needed; and
WHEREAS, rental assistance is an eligible activity under the CDBG-CV funding and
meets Citizen Participation Plan requirements as set out herein; and
WHEREAS, the budget for the FY2019 CDBG-CV Mortgage and Utility Assistance
Program will be amended to include rental assistance as an eligible activity; and
WHEREAS, the parties desire to execute this First Amendment to express their
mutual desire to reaffirm all terms, conditions, and covenants stated in the original
Agreement, as amended herein, including an amendment to the FY2019 Budget for
the Mortgage, Rental and Utility Assistance Program as depicted in Exhibit "A" to the
Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the mutual covenants stated herein
and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is
hereby acknowledged, the City and Subrecipient hereby agree as follows:
Section 1. The Preliminary Budget and Program Schedule which was attached as
"Exhibit A" to the FY 2019 CDBG-CV Subrecipient Funding Agreement between the
City and Subrecipient is hereby replaced in its entirety by the revised "Exhibit A" which
is attached to this First Amendment and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2. By execution of this instrument, the parties agree to reaffirm and continue in
force all terms, conditions, and covenants stated in the original Agreement, as that
Agreement has been amended by the execution of this First Amendment.
