OF THE
HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION MEETING
July 6, 1995

The regular monthly meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by the Chair, Rev. Willie Davila. Roll
call was taken and a quorum was present to conduct a legally constituted meeting.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
It was moved, seconded and voted the Minutes of May 11, 1995 be approved.
The Chair welcomed Gary Goltzman, new appointed Commissioner. Mr. Goltzman introduced
himself and gave an overview of his background.
CHAIR'S COMMENTS
Commissioner Davila reported that the Human Relations Department does not have an Executive
Director and will discuss this matter later in the meeting.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT
The monthly report was briefly discussed by Henry Gorham. Mr. Gorham stated that the Equal
Employment Opportunity Commission has modified the contract from 134 to 100, therefore, this will
enable the Human Relations Department to complete the Contract.
Mr. Gorham also reported the department has hired a temporary investigator to help with the case
load.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
EEO Conference
The Chair stated the new date for the Employment Conference will be August 3, 1995.
Commissioners are still concerned on the time frame to notify companies, organization and
community leaders to respond.
Brad Veloz with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission will be getting the agenda ready for
mailing. The Commissioners are willing to help the Human Relations staff with the conference.
NEW BUSINESS
Committee Report - No report
Rabbi Paul Joseph - Community Relations
The Human Relations Commission went into closed session regarding the Director of the Human

Relations Department.
` FEPA Conference held in Arlington, Virginia
Henry Gorham reported on the FEPA Conference he attended in June 1995. Some main issues
discuss were: (1) Arbitration- trying to settle first, to save money and time.
(2) Contract with EEOC would be for two(2)years
(3) Not to take complaints that do not have a prima facie issue
