A new microchip license report is also being created to provide citizens proof that they have registered the chip with CCACS. Mr. Baker inquired if a tag is provided to indicate that the animal has a chip so if a citizen were to find a lost animal, they would know to have it scanned for a chip. Mr. Skidmore explained that our chips do come with a tag for citizens to place on the animal's collar, as do most chips/companies. Animal Control Officers have scanners to scan, we can scan at CCACS and most shelters/clinics also have scanners. Mr. Skidmore explained that the RTO numbers in the clinic report represent both, but he can provide a report with a breakdown. Ms. Bowen inquired on the protocol for live release regarding notifying rescues of mother dogs and not just their puppies as well as what avenues are taken to reach out to rescues. Mr. Skidmore explained a wide group of rescues that are emailed, social media and will address the notification of mother dogs being at the facility along with their pups.
