I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Coretta Graham at 1:41pm in the Council Chambers on
the first floor of City Hall.

IV. ABSENCES
A motion was made by Joe Ortiz and seconded by Catherine Giffin to approve the absences
of the Regular Meeting of March 25, 2021. A roll call vote was taken, and the motion passed
unanimously.
V. MINUTES
A motion was made by Catherine Giffin and seconded by Joe Ortiz to approve the minutes of
the Regular Meeting of March 25, 2021. A roll call vote was taken, and the motion passed
unanimously.
VI. STAFF REPORT
The Staff Report was presented to the Board for discussion and information regarding cases
from January 23, 2020 to present. A motion was made by Joe Ortiz seconded by Catherine
Giffin to approve the staff report. A roll call vote was taken, and the motion passed
unanimously.
VII. PUBLIC COMMENT
A motion was made by Coretta Graham to open the floor for public comment. As there was
no response, Coretta Graham closed the public comment.
VIII. NEW BUSINESS
1. 2819 Moore St., Demolition Residence (Nueces Bay Hts Lts 23 and 24 BK 5)
Staff Recommendation: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration.
Appearing in Favor: No one.
Appearing in Opposition: No one.
Motion:
A motion was made by Catherine Giffin and seconded by Joe Ortiz to accept the staff
recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-22(H)
(1) (c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner will be
allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the
structure(s) located at 2819 Moore St., Demolition Residence (Nueces Bay Hts Lts 23
and 24 BK 5). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is
authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
IX. ANNUAL REPORT
Board members voted to accept the following objectives for 2021.
1. Enforce the provisions of city ordinances as they relate to substandard properties
and make decisions in accordance with the law.
2. Ensure board member attendance in order to conduct meeting.
3. Recruit new board member.
A motion was made by Catherine Giffin and seconded by Joe Ortiz to adopt these three
(3) goal objectives for 2021. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
X. IDENTIFYING ITEMS FOR FUTURE AGENDA
Two properties will be presented at the next board hearing 1902 Comanche and 2817
Moore. Next meeting will be held July 22, 2021.
XI. ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made Joe Ortiz and seconded by Catherine Giffin to adjourn the hearing at
2:12 P.M. on May 27, 2021. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
