The mission of the Business & Job Development (Type A) and B Corporations is to promote and enhance the City of Corpus Christi's economic base by supporting projects and programs that create primary jobs, improve small business and affordable housing opportunities, and improve infrastructure in our City. A. President Scott Harris to call the meeting to order. President Scott Harris called the meeting to order at 1:48 p.m. B. Call Roll: City Secretary Rebecca Huerta called the roll and verified that a quorum of the Board was present to conduct the meeting. Present: 7 - Board Member Scott Harris, Board Member Leah Pagan Olivarri, Secretary Diana Summers, Vice -President Robert Tamez, President Lee Trujillo, Board Member John Valls and Board Member Alan Wilson C. PUBLIC COMMENT President Harris referred to Public Comment. Shirin Delsooz, 6030 Tapestry St., spoke regarding safer bike paths. 3. 21-1499 Election of Officers for a term ending September 30, 2022. President Harris deviated from the agenda and referred to item 3. Mr. Harris nominated Mr. Trujillo for President, Mr. Tamez for Vice -President and Ms. Summers for Secretary. There were no other nominations. Ms. Harris made a motion to elect Mr. Trujillo as President, Mr. Tamez as Vice -President and Ms. Summers as Secretary, seconded by Mr. Valls and passed unanimously. MINUTES / EXCUSE ABSENCES 1. 21-1603 Approval of minutes of the Type A Board October 18, 2021 Regular Meeting. President Trujillo referred to item 1. Mr. Wilson made a motion to approve the minutes as presented, seconded by Mr. Harris, and passed unanimously. E. FINANCIAL REPORT 2. 21-1621 Type A Financial Report as of September 30, 2021 President Trujillo referred to item 2. Director of Finance Heather Hurlbert presented the financial reports as of September 30, 2021. Board Members and Ms. Hurlbert discussed the following: incorporate the funded projects for the current year and the planned projects for future years in the Seawall and Arena monthly report; Community Development Corporation of Brownsville project will be de -obligated and the land will remain a park. F. CLOSED SESSION ITEMS: G. AGENDA ITEMS: 4. 21-1600 Motion approving the 2022 Corpus Christi Business and Job Development Corporation Meeting Calendar. President Trujillo referred to item 4. Senior Management Analyst Randy Almaguer said the purpose of this item was to present the 2022 Corpus Christi B Corporation Meeting Calendar. Mr. Wilson made a motion approving item 4, seconded by Mr. Valls and passed unanimously. H. PRESENTATION ITEMS: 5. 21-1505 Texas A&M Civil and Industrial Engineering Programs President Trujillo referred to item 5. Chief Operating Officer of the Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corporation Mike Culbertson introduced Vice -President for Research and Innovation Dr. Ahmed Mandy and Vice -President of Institutional Advancement Jaime Nodarse Barrera, who presented an update on Texas A&M Civil and Industrial Engineering Programs. Dr. Mandy presented an update on the following projects: infrastructure; laboratories; breakdown of funds; usage of the remaining funds; completion date for the laboratory; City of Corpus Christi Page 2 Printed on 1/10/2022 Corpus Christi Business and Job Development Corporation - Type A Meeting Minutes November 15, 2021 new faculty acquisitions; curriculum and course development; enrollment data; graduate data; and matching and external funding for the programs. Board Members, Mr. Culbertson, Dr. Mandy and Associate Dean of Engineering and Computing Science Lea Der Chen discussed the following topics: total number of students that graduated from the program and how many students became licensed as Professional Engineers (P.E.); schedule a tour of the labs for the Type A Board Members; whether the University works with professional laboratories that do material testing; and whether the City of Corpus Christi have an engineering internship program for students. I. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR COMMENTS: President Trujillo referred to the Executive Director comments. City Manager Peter Zanoni congratulated the new elected officers and thanked Mr. Harris for his service as President. J.
