Discussion Items and Possible Action Thereto:
Contractor and Tenant Rules and Regulations: Mr. Atwood passed out the rules and regulations packet
for the board to review, edit, and discuss at the February meeting. Mr. Atwood would like to send the
revised packet to tenants by March. A seaworthiness inspection will be added to the packet, making sure
incoming vessels are up to par before signing a lease. Mr. Broomfield and Mr. Bell suggested consulting
the Coast Guard and coming up with a standardized check list. A page including marina and downtown
amenities will be added.
Capital Improvement Projects: Mr. Atwood advised we are still waiting on a permit from the US Army
Corps of Engineers before dock construction can go to bid. Urban Engineering submitted a 100% dock
plan. Mr. Atwood and Ms. Gardner have a meeting at the end of January to hopefully select a design firm
for the Coopers Alley boater’s facility and haul out building projects. Once the firm is chosen, we can
move forward with building design. As of December 27th 16,615 cubic yards of the 50,000 cubic yard
allotment has been dredged for the McGee Beach project. Dredging is currently along R pier. Five
hundred fifty feet of concrete walkway along the breakwater is complete, soon another 200 feet will be
complete.
Committee/Staff Reports: n/a
Director’s Report: Mr. Atwood reported any significant changes to the dry storage, such as building up
could cause problems and involve Windstorm Insurance. Material costs are currently at an all-time high.
Mr. Atwood advised a few cages toward R pier may be removed to create more parking spaces. The boat
yard reopened after Mr. Atwood met with contractors to discuss methods to prevent environmental
incidents and increase general cleanliness of the yard. Tarps are required when painting and sanding to
prevent run off and dust. Marina staff cleaned out the containment system. Mr. Atwood is considering
fencing along the road to further contain any dust that could blow toward the Corpus Christi Yacht Club.
