The mission of the Business & Jobs Development (Type A) and B Corporations is to
promote and enhance the City of Corpus Christi's economic base by supporting
projects and programs that create primary jobs, improve small business and affordable
housing opportunities, and improve infrastructure in our City.
A. President Lee Trujillo to call the meeting to order.
President Lee Trujillo called the meeting to order at 1:32 p.m.
B. Call Roll:
Assistant City Secretary Ruth Bocchino called the roll and verified that a quorum of the
Board was present to conduct the meeting.
Present 6 - Board Member Scott Harris, Secretary Diana Summers, Vice -President Robert Tamez,
President Lee Trujillo, Board Member John Valls, and Board Member Alan Wilson
Absent 1 - Board Member Leah Pagan Olivarri
C. PUBLIC COMMENT:
President Trujillo referred to Public Comment. There were no comments from the public.
D. MINUTES / EXCUSE ABSENCES:
1. 22-1058 Approval of Minutes of the Type B Board May 16, 2022 Regular Meeting.
President Trujillo referred to Item 1. Mr. Tamez made a motion to approve the minutes as
presented, seconded by Mr. Harris, and passed unanimously.
E. FINANCIAL REPORT:
2. 22-1009 Type B Financial Reports as of April 30, 2022
President Trujillo referred to Item 2. Director of Finance Heather Hurlbert presented the
financial reports as of April 30, 2022.

I. PRESENTATION ITEMS:
3. 22-1069 City of Corpus Christi Gateway Signage Briefing
President Trujillo referred to Item 3. Assistant City Manager Neiman Young said the
purpose of this item is to present a briefing for gateway signage located at 14333
Interstate 37 in District 1.
Mr. Young presented the following: project location; additional future project location;
current signage and signage examples.
Board Members, Mr. Young and Assistant City Attorney Aimee Alcorn -Reed discussed
the following topics: whether the gateway signage fits the scope of economic
development; whether Type B funds could legally be used for signage; signage location
not safe for tourists; estimated cost for the signage; whether businesses will use the
same branding / signage in future locations; and provide board members the 2018 Texas
A&M University Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) gateway study.
4. 22-1066 Presentation and discussion on the Proposed FY 22-23 Corpus Christi Type B
Corporation Budget
President Trujillo referred to Item 4. Director of Management & Budget Eddie Houlihan
said the purpose of this item is to present and discuss the proposed Fiscal Year
2022-2023 Operating Budget.
Mr. Houlihan presented the following budget items: Budgeted Revenue for Economic
Development; Major Business Incentives; Small Business Projects; Type B Incentives;
Budgeted Overview for Economic Development; Budgeted Revenue for Housing;
Proposed Expenses for Housing; Affordable Housing; Infill Housing Incentive Programs;
Budgeted Overview for Housing; Budgeted Revenue for Streets; Proposed Expenses for
Streets; Budgeted Overview for Streets.
Assistant City Manager Neiman Young presented an estimated design and construction
cost for Gabe Lozano Club House.
Board Members, Mr. Young, Mr. Houlihan and Ms. Hurlbert discussed the following
topics: transfer of funds for the baseball stadium property insurance; budget increase for
the LiftFund and Infill Housing and whether they will use all the increased budget.

EXECUTIVEDIRECTOR COMMENTS:
President Trujillo referred to the Executive Director comments. Chief Financial Office
Constance Sanchez wished Ms. Olivarri Happy Birthday and stated she will provide the
board members the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi 2018 gateway signage study.
K. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, President Trujillo adjourned the meeting at 2:29 p.m.
This meeting may be held via videoconference call pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.127. If this meeting is held via
videoconference call or other remote method of meeting, then a member of this governmental body presiding over this
meeting will be physically present at the location of this meeting unless this meeting is held pursuant to Texas Government
Code § 551.125 due to an emergency or other public necessity pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.045.
