A. Call To Order
The meeting was called to order at 10:37 am.
B. Roll Call
Present: Alice Nixon,Vickie Natale, Veronica Towns, Sharron Hines, Nicole Carroll,
Pooja Bindingnavele
Absent: Julie Rogers, Dora Wilburn
C. Public Comment
There was no public comment.
D. Approval of the Minutes and Actions on Absences
A motion to approve the September minutes was made by Vickie Natale and seconded
by Nicole Carroll. The motion passed unanimously. Sharron Hines, Nicole Carroll, and
Pooja Bindingnavele asked that their absences from the July, August, and September
meetings be excused. Veronica Towns moved that the absences be excused. Vickie
seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

E. Friends Liaison Report

The Friends have a good budget for the upcoming year. They have been gathering books
for the AAUW booksale.
F. Staff Report
3. 22-1693 Collection Development Policy Discussion Continued
Dorothea Castenon continued her presentation on CCPL's Collection Development
Policy. She described the continual process of review, evaluation, and weeding of the
libraries' collections. The Policy will be reviewed at least once a year or as needed.
G. Director's Report
4. 22-1691 Director's Report
The City Budget for FY 2023 has been finalized. In addition to its regular budget, CCPL
will receive an emergency generator for La Retama Central Library; replacement
computers at Garcia, Harte, Hopkins, and Neyland Libraries; and capital improvements
for McDonald and Neyland Libraries. The Texas Cloudlink Project has been approved by
City Council and will be turned on in November. CCPL has budgeted $25,000 for this
project for FY2023. The Emergency Connectivity Fund is scheduled for its second
reading before City Council on October 11 and should start in early November. The
re-route of La Retama Central Library's plumbing system is scheduled to begin October
24. Over 300 people attended the Junior League of Corpus Christi event at La Retama
Central Library on September 24.
H. Unfinished Business
5. 22-1696 Update on Re-appointments and Appointments
New appointees will start November 5th.
6. 22-1698 Committee to Prepare Library Annual Report
The Library Board will need to start planning for the 2022 Annual Report to be presented
to City Council.

1. Election of new Board president.
2. How many virtual attendances are allowed for a Board Member during a calendar
