I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Catherine Giffin at 1:32pm in the Council Chambers on
the first floor of City Hall.

III. PUBLIC COMMENT
A motion was made by Catherine Giffin to open the floor for public comment. As there was
no response, Catherine Giffin closed the public comment.
IV. MINUTES
A motion was made by John Solberg and seconded by Monica Pareso to approve the minutes
of the Regular Meeting of July 28, 2022. A roll call vote was taken, and the motion passed
unanimously.
V. ABSENCES
A motion was made by John Solberg and seconded by Monica Pareso to excuse the absence
of Correta Graham from the Regular Meeting held on July 28, 2022. A roll call vote was
taken, and the motion passed unanimously.
VI. STAFF REPORT
1. The Staff Report was presented to the Board for discussion and information regarding
cases from January 28, 2021, to present. A motion was made by Merced Pena seconded
by John Solberg to approve the staff report. A roll call vote was taken, and the motion
passed unanimously.
VII. OLD BUSINESS
1. 2128 Peabody., Demolition Residence and Accessory Structure (HILLCREST LTS 14 &
15 BLK 31)
Property owner was ordered by the board on May 26, 2022, to provide a timeline for
renovations or demolition within 90 days. Property owner failed to provide any
documentation or pull any permits. To this day the property remains the same. No contact has
been made with Code Enforcement and the City is maintaining the property.
Motion:
A motion was made by John Solberg and seconded by Monica Pareso to accept the staff
recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-22(H) (1)
(c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner will be allowed
thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s)
located at 2128 Peabody., Demolition Residence and Accessory Structure (HILLCREST
LTS 14 & 15 BLK 31). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the
City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
2. 110 Josephine St., Demolition Residence (MUSSETT BLK 3 LOT 1).
Property owner was ordered by the board on May 26, 2022, to secure the structure(s) and
provide a timeline for renovation or demo within 30 days for the structure. To this day the
property remains the same. No contact has been made with Code Enforcement and the City is
maintaining the property.
Motion:
A motion was made by John Solberg and seconded by Monica Pareso to accept the staff
recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-22(H) (1)
(c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner will be allowed
thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s)
located at 110 Josephine St., Demolition Residence (MUSSETT BLK 3 LOT 1).
If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
VIII. NEW BUSINESS
1. 1725 Fifteenth St., Demolition Residence (MERCHANTS #5 LTS 19&20 BK 1304)
Staff Recommendation: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration

Motion:
A motion was made by Catherine Giffin and seconded by Monica Pareso to accept the staff
recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-22(H) (1)
(c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner will be allowed
thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s)
located at 1725 Fifteenth St., Demolition Residence (MERCHANTS #5 LTS 19&20 BK
1304). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized
to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
2. 4642 Abner Dr., Demolition Residence (PARKDALE VILLAGE #2 BLK 8 LOT 11)

thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s)
located at 5402 Wharton St., Demolition Residence (MORAVIAN VILLAGE 2 LT 1 BK
4). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
4. 1041 Vernon Dr., Demolition Accessory Structure (DONA PARK BLK5 LOT 13).
Staff Recommendation: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration.

going to be demolished.

recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-22(H) (1)
(c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner will be allowed
thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the accessory
structure(s) located at 1041 Vernon Dr., Demolition Accessory Structure(DONA PARK
BLK5 LOT 13). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is
authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
5. 5310 Williams Dr., Demolition Residence and Accessory Structure (GARDENDALE #3
BLK 12 LOT 14 ).
Staff Recommendation: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration.

A motion was made by Catherine Giffin and seconded by John Solberg to accept the staff
recommendation and require repair of the structure(s) according to Section 13-22(H) (1) (c)
of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner will be allowed thirty
(30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the repair of the structure(s) located at 3145
Eisenhower St., Demolition Residence and Accessory structure (CASA BLANCA BLK 1
LOT 27). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is
authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
7. 1006 Hancock Ave., Demolition Residence (SHANNON LT 12 LESS W2FT ALL 13 BK
2)
Staff Recommendation: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration.

A motion was made by Monica Pareso and seconded by John Solberg to accept the staff
recommendation and require repair of the structure(s) according to Section 13-22(H) (1) (c)
of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner will be allowed thirty
(30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the repair of the structure(s) located at 1006
Hancock Ave., Demolition Residence (SHANNON LT 12 LESS W2FT ALL 13 BK 2). If
the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
8. 2625 Milo St., Demolition Residence (LEXINGTON BLK 3 LOT 19A)
Staff Recommendation: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration.

A motion was made by Monica Pareso and seconded by John Solberg to accept the staff
recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-22(H) (1)
(c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner will be allowed
thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s)
located at 2625 Milo St., Demolition Residence (LEXINGTON BLK 3 LOT 19A). If the
demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish.
A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
9. 861 Post Ave., Demolition Residence (AIRPORT PARK BLK 4 LOT 34)
Staff Recommendation: To require demolition due to the extent of fire.

A motion was made by John Solberg and seconded by Monica Pareso to accept the staff
recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-22(H) (1)
(c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner will be allowed
thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s)
located at 861 Post Ave., Demolition Residence (AIRPORT PARK BLK 4 LOT 34). If the
demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish.
A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
IX. IDENTIFYING ITEMS FOR FUTURE AGENDA
