New Business for Discussion and Possible Action 4. 22®1920 Presentation from the Port of Corpus Christi Director of Channel and DMPA Development for the Port of Corpus Christi, Dan Koesema provided an update on the ship channel dredging project. At past MAC meetings committee members expressed concern about boats running aground on the new previously uncharted spoil areas. Mr. Koesema explained since the October MAC meeting the Port has placed PVC pipe markers to warn boaters of shallow areas, NOAA updated their navigational charts, and the Coast Guard issued two Marine Safety Information Bulletins advising boaters of the shallow areas. The committee was appreciative of how quickly the Port responded to their concerns. Mr. Kelley requested the PVC pipe markers be altered or replaced with buoys that are more visible to boaters. The option for virtual buoys was discussed and deemed an excellent resolution to the PVC pipe markers. Mr. Koesema assured the committee the Port is working closely with the US Army Corps of Engineers and making the committees' concerns known. I. Future Agenda Items No items were suggested J.
