LANDMARK COMMISSION
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI

I.CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
The meeting was called to order and a quorum was established with Commissioner Brown and Williams absent.
II.APPROVAL OF MINUTES: August 25, 2022
A motion was made by Commissioner Wanzer to approve the minutes listed above and seconded by
Commissioner Fontenot. The motion passed.
III.APPROVAL OF ABSENCES: Kathleen de la Garza, Roslyn Wanzer, Veronica Wilson, Albert Montez, and
Matthew Forrester.
A motion was made by Commissioner Pruitt to approve the absences listed above and was seconded by
Chairman Mendez
IV.PUBLIC COMMENT – None.
V.BRIEFING:
Historic Resource Survey Presentation was presented by Michael Alva from GIS. Mr. Alva gave a brief
presentation on how to navigate through the survey that was presented.
VI.HISTORIC PRESERVATION OFFICER REPORT: Nina Nixon-Mendez
Nina Nixon-Mendez, Assistant Director informed the Commissioner’s there are two terms that will be expiring on
November 20th for Vice Chairman Freeman and Commissioner Fontenot. The City Council made two appointments
on September 6th to fill those positions, Elizabeth Riggle and Walter Mumme will take seat at the December 15th
meeting. The Landmark Commission meetings for November and December dates have shifted due to the holidays
so she just wanted to remind everyone about the meeting dates. Nina Nixon-Mendez also informed the
Commissioner’s about the Real Places Conference in February, Commissioner Pruitt and herself will be attending
in person and Commissioner Wilson will be attending virtually.
VII.FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Update on the Harbor Bridge Removal and a resolution adding Old Bay View Bike Path
