Upon request, this information can be available in larger print and/or in electronic format. A. Call To Order The February 6th meeting was called to order at 5:30p.m. B. Roll Call Present: 9- Vice Chair Charles Pendlyshok, Curt Broomfield,John Wood, John Murray, Marcus Veazey, Don Dunlap,Alyssa B. Mason, Richard E. Bell, and Robert Kelley C. Public Comment N/A D. Approval of Minutes and Action on Absences The minutes for the January 9th meeting were approved. 1. 23-0262 Minutes for the January 9th special meeting. Attachments: MACMinsJan23.pdf E. Director's Report Mr. Atwood advised that the marina software update will go live on February 16-17th, the burned shrimp boat has been removed from the Coopers Alley L-head at the boat owner's expense. Mr. Atwood expressed his gratitude for the quick response from Port PD, CCPD, CCFD, Jane's Seafood employees, and marina staff. The marina failed an inspection of the dry stand fire hydrants on Coopers Alley on December 16th and the current repair quote is over $20,000.00. The inspection on Peoples Street dry stand hydrants will take place this week. Security cameras were installed at the Peoples Street boater's facility and will be installed on the Lawrence Street facility this week. 2. 23-0263 Fiscal year to date expenditure and revenue reports. Unfinished Business 3. 23-0264 Capital Improvement Projects Mr. Atwood advised MAC that the engineer from USACE in charge of our project permit has been out of office since the end of December. Mr. Broomfield insisted the City Legal department assist in contacting the USACE. The Coopers Alley boater's facility and haul out facility design proposals are under review with the Engineering department, both firms have been asked to adjust their quotes as we change the scope of work to fit the budget. The Peoples Street boardwalk design is also under review and over budget. Mr. Atwood and Mr. Johnson will work with executive staff to find additional funds. The IT department received the outdoor Wi-Fi access points and will be installing them in the near future. 4. 23-0277 Dredging Update Mr. Atwood advised Dan Koesema from the Port of Corpus Christi was unable to attend to give an update on the spoil area but should be able to present at the March meeting. H. New Business for Discussion and Possible Action 5. 23-0267 Erosion Control Resolution Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation, Kevin Johnson presented MAC with a joint resolution for a City erosion control plan in conjunction with the Island Strategic Action Committee, the Watershore and Beach Advisory Committee, and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. Mr. Johnson explained the joint resolution is to proactively combat shoreline erosion with an Erosion Response Plan. John Murray made a motion to sign the joint resolution, John Wood seconded the motion, and the motion passed with only 1 objection by Curt Broomfield. 6. 23-0286 Election of Chairman and Vice Chairman Mr. Dunlap nominated John Murray for chairman, Mr. Broomfield seconded, the motion passed unanimously. Dr. Wood nominated Charles Pendlyshok for vice chairman, Mr. Bell seconded, the motion passed unanimously. 7. 23-0287 Summer Activation Project Ms. Mason advised the Downtown Management District is trying to put together a Summer Activation Project involving the Marina. The initial idea is to put a skating rink in the Peoples Street circle to draw attention to the marina and downtown Corpus Christi as a way for the general public to make lasting summer memories. The project is in the early stages and is not guaranteed to come to fruition. I. J. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 6:35p.m. This meeting may be held via videoconference call pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.127. If this meeting is held via videoconference call or other remote method of meeting, then a member of this governmental body presiding over this meeting will be physically present at the location of this meeting unless this meeting is held pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.125 due to an emergency or other public necessity pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.045.
