A. Call To Order
Chairman Melody Cooper Called the Meeting to Order at 12:05 pm
B. Roll Call
Present: 8- Almira Flores, Chair Melody H. Cooper, Mirza Pearson,Adria Vasquez,Arthur Wallace,
Vice Chair Luis F. Cabrera,Valerie Harbolovic,and Susane"Westi" Horn
Absent: 1 - Deacon Marck C.Arnold

D. Approval of Minutes and Action on Absences
This was passed.
E. Committee Reports
Agen -Val suggested a local student Flutist, Rachel Perez, as a possible performer; She
also offered to teach a literature master class in creative writing for secondary students
and to teach point-of-view for younger students. Agen would like a response to their
earlier proposal. An email of introduction between Wendy Herman and Nicolas Cassett
was sent by Melody. Wendy will reach out in response to the proposal.
Mexico -Adria is sure which cities we have agreements with; Wendy will find out from
SCI. Per Alimira, a letter to the city and a phone call was established with Playa de
Carmen in 2022. Awaiting a response from the city on how they wish to proceed with
Playa de Carmen and previous correspondence with Vera Cruz. The committee has
expressed that all communication efforts with Monterrey have been unsuccessful.

Keolong -Westi reached out to the contact she had and heard nothing and it was
suggested that Wendy reach out to Salt Lake City to see who their contact is.
Yokosuka - It was suggested that we do a youth art exchange and consider a delegation
go to Japan in October for Friendship Day; a fundraiser in summer could be planned at
the Asian Cultural Center

Student Application Launch Update
Luis presented the updated application; it was decided that a March 1 launch would
happen. Lisa agreed to help with the marketing plan.
