Upon request, this information can be available in larger print and/or in electronic format. A. Call To Order The March 6th regular meeting was called to order at 5:30p.m. B. Roll Call Present: 7- Vice Chair Charles Pendlyshok, Curt Broomfield,John Wood, John Murray, Don Dunlap, Alyssa B. Mason,and Robert Kelley Excused: 2- Marcus Veazey, and Richard E. Bell C. Public Comment D. Approval of Minutes and Action on Absences 1. 23-0396 Minutes from the February 6th regular meeting Attachments: MACMinsFeb23.pdf The minutes from the February 6th regular meeting were approved. E. Committee Reports N/A F. Director's Report Mr. Atwood advised in his director's report that the marina software update go live date has been pushed back a month due to delays with Govolution. The dry stand fire hydrants on Peoples Street were inspected on February 17th and were in much better shape than those at Coopers Alley. The current repair quote is $48,000.00 and may need to go to council because the amount is so close to the $50,000.00 cut off. 2. 23-0402 February 2023 occupancy report Attachments: Feb23 OccRpt.pdf G. Unfinished Business 3. 23-0264 Capital Improvement Projects City of Corpus Christi Pagel Printed on 4/4/2023 Marina Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes -Final March 6,2023 Mr. Atwood provided updates on Capital Improvement Projects. He advised MAC we received our letter of permission for the dock project on February 15th. We're working with Engineering department on the next step which is going out for construction bids. The advertisement for construction bids is estimated between March 20th through March 26th. The advertising process is 30 days, once a contractor is selected there will be a proposal phase before going to City Council. A new project manager has been assigned to the Coopers Alley boater's facility and haul out facility project. The Peoples Street boardwalk is nearing the 90% design phase and Engineering will submit that on March 15th. At that point we will have design plans to show the committee. IT installed the final Wi-Fi access points. 4. 23-0277 Dredging Update Mr. Atwood advised Dan Koesema from the Port of Corpus Christi was unable to attend to give an update on the spoil area but did respond to an email with an update. The Port is looking into virtual navigation aids but discovered there isn't enough coverage. They will be working with the US Coast Guard to install more antennas. The US Army Corps of Engineers contract requires the final elevation of the spoil area to be minus 6' deep or deeper. The Port has requested the USACE modify the contract to require a final elevation of minus 8'. H. New Business for Discussion and Possible Action 5. 23-0403 RTA Water Taxi Mr. Curt Broomfield suggested involving the mayor in putting pressure on the RTA to bring a water taxi back to the marina. Mr. Atwood spoke with the RTA and they plan to continue renting the slip, but future plans for a water taxi are unknown. Ms. Alyssa Mason suggested the committee write a letter to the RTA asking for a proposal of activation in the next 12 months. Mr. Atwood suggested waiting until there are design plans for the Peoples Street Boardwalk in hand before approaching the RTA. 6. 23-0404 Marina Fuel Station Mr. Broomfield requested a status update on bringing a new fuel station to the marina. Mr. Atwood advised the City received a couple of proposals for a fuel station, but a fuel station can't stand alone in the marina. It's a possibility to use more space on the L-head for a ship store or restaurant to go with a fuel station. Mr. Atwood introduced the new Assistant City Manager, Nadia Chandler-Hardy, saying she recommended putting out a request for proposal. Ms. Mason asked if we had a fuel station in 2017, Mr. Atwood advised the board of the history of the previous fuel station. Harrison's Landing and Jane's Seafood Stand have declined a request to start a fuel station. 7. 23-0406 Overview: Committee Member Discussion Chairman John Murray went over the purpose of the advisory committee and the process with which the meeting minutes are shared with City Council. Mr. Broomfield suggested a retreat for the advisory board. Mr. Atwood advised part of the Marina Master Plan is public outreach and could serve as a retreat. I. Future Agenda Items The future agenda items are fuel station RFP, Downtown development, 90% Peoples Street design plan, retreat, raise and repair of breakwater. J. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 6:30p.m. This meeting may be held via videoconference call pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.127. If this meeting is held via videoconference call or other remote method of meeting, then a member of this governmental body presiding over this meeting will be physically present at the location of this meeting unless this meeting is held pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.125 due to an emergency or other public necessity pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.045.
