A. Call To Order
The meeting was called to order at 10:30 am.
B. Roll Call
Present: Julie Rogers, Pooja Bindingnavele, Nicole Carroll, Sharron Hines, Alice
Hawkins, Carroll Matthews, Dora Wilburn
Present Virtually: Vickie Natale
Absent: Veronica Towns
C. Public Comment
There was no public comment.
D. Approval of Minutes and Action on Absences
A motion to approve the February minutes was made by Nicole Carroll and seconded by
Alice Hawkins. The motion passed unanimously. Pooja Bindingnavele asked that her
absence from January and February be excused. Carroll Matthews moved that the
absence be approved. Alice Hawkins seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

-The budget has been finalized and $7,000 has been approved for the Summer Reading

Program.
-Friends of CCPL will have a table at the Week of the Young Child event hosted by the
United Way Success by Six at La Retama on April 15.
F. Director's Report
3. 23-0429 Director's Report
-An overview of electronic resources the library offers was provided by the director.
Pooja asked about social media postings, specifically Instagram. She asked how often
and what locations are posting. The social media process will be discussed further at a
future meeting.
-The budget initiative computers will be distributed to Neyland Library starting March
11th, Hopkins is scheduled March 18th, Harte, and Garcia April 1st. The installations will
take place while the libraries are closed to reduce disruptions to the public.
-La Retama hosted a Solar Eclipse Programming Workshop on February 17, sponsored
by the Partner Library Action Network. Presenters from the Lunar Planetary Institute
provided this full day workshop about public programming related to astronomy,
especially related to the solar eclipses that will pass over Texas in 2023 and 2024. As
part of hosting the workshop we received two free programming kits, one for youth and
one for adults. The kits included telescope equipment. This was one of five workshops
held across Texas.
-La Retama is working with the Texas Legal Services Center to potentially host a Legal
Access Kiosk funded through the Texas Access to Justice Foundation. The kiosk would
be hosted at La Retama, due to space requirements, and would be 1 of 25 that are being
set up across the state.
-Corpus Christi Literacy Council will begin offering ESL classes at Hopkins Library, on
March 7. Classes will be offered every Tuesday from 11-12, through the end of May.

4. 23-0430 National Library Week 2023 Proclamation
Julie Rogers presented a draft of a proclamation for Library Week and Library Workers
Day. This will be reviewed by board members and presented to City Council.
