Agen - Melody requested a plan for 2024 visit by May meeting; committee will meet to
plan
Yokosuka - Students have been selected; the committee would like an itinerary for
student exchange, and will plan a student exchange itinerary for the visit here. Discussion
was had about a possible visit to Japan in October for "Friendship Day". Legal Dept
stated that a fundraiser was possible for students, but no member of the committee or
elected officials were eligible for these funds.

Mexico - Vera Cruz -WH asked Val to reach out to Galveston on behalf of the committee
to get contact for Vera Cruz; WH will draft a letter for mayor to sign in response to letter.
Toledo, Spain - committee requests that this country be dropped since we have not had
contact with anyone there in years and add a formal agreement with Keolong, Korean.
Update by Sister City International
WH corresponded with SCI and discovered that we have official contracts with the
following countries:
Agen, France - Yokosuka, Japan -Vera Cruz, Mexico -Toledo, Spain
WH requested guidance on how to handle medical emergencies from SCI but has not
received any to date.

Student Exchange Committee:
LO has set up the email and gotten control of the FB page for the Student Exchange
The launch date will be March 3rd.
Press release has been drafted and schools have been identified.
We are working with City communications to promote the event.
Adria will draft FAQ portion for the website
It was agreed to set aside $3k of the scholarship funds to be able to assist a family
should a medical emergency arrive with a student.
